Specializes in NICU.

We had twins Stormy and Breezy, who also lived up to their names.

One I'll never forget, was Raven Cheyenne. Hydrocephalic and unwanted by her parents. She lived for 7 months, longer than anyone expected.

I got teased a lot when growing up, my given name is BREE

but what was almost worse was my maiden name PAYNE, I was always a Pain in the A**

A friend who is a NICU nurse told me about twin girls named.....

Camembert and Brie

My daughter was born on Christmas Day and on during the holiday season we all call her Merry Christina Angelica Noel.

I work in a LTC in the rural south. We see rather unusual names, too. If the person is from smith county, you have to pronounce the ending of every name as "er."

My mother-in-law and her siblings are Peggy Joyce, Billie Doris, Jimmie Carol, Jo Ann, Mary Nell and Truman.

Specializes in Neuro.

My grandmother's name is Fairy Elaine (she goes by Elaine), I know a guy named Major Lee Back, I went to elementary school with Vu Do (Voo Doo), who had a sister named Vi Do...

There's also a girl who calls into my office at work a lot whose last name is Assman (pronounced Oz-man). I'm always very careful to identify her by her first name to avoid mispronouncing the last name!!

Meghan

But I love your name! I think it is very pretty. What in the world were you teased about?

My husband LOVES the name Brandy. So, if we ever have a girl, he wants to name her that. BUT, I don't want her to get teased. We already have people tell us that their dog's name is Brandy. Or they say stuff like "Brandy wine". I hate that! Names that are are so pretty can just get ripped to shreds!

Specializes in Rehab, Step-down,Tele,Hospice.

My cousin named his girl... Crystal Waters. My husband said it sounds like a pole dancers name ! :chuckle

I had a patient with the first name Dorkus, can you imagine how she was teased in school? Poor lady! :o

Must be an old name -- I was doing genealogy research and I have an ancestor named Dorkus -- a female name -- and I think they were German. Still not a name I would revive!
