More $$/hr for CCRN?

Specialties CCU

My facility doesn't give us any incentive to sit for the CCRN, except if we pass, they will reimburse the cost of the exam.

(Regardless, I am taking it in the next 2 months for the knowledge and confidence. We only have 2 nurses still at the bedside (& one is PRN b/c he's a flight nurse) with this credential, so I would like to stand out at my facility with obtaining mine.)

I've seen old threads, but wanted to ask for 2013...

Any of you guys getting paid more for the cert?

Specializes in SICU.

We get an extra $1.00/hr and our facility will reimburse you for the test fee if you pass.

Specializes in MICU.

We get nothing. They do reimburse it after you pass but that's it. We're actually required, we were told two years ago if we didnt have it by the end of the year our jobs would be posted. I'll be interested to see if they actually do it... It's basically a way for us to look good since magnet renewal is coming up.

I got my CCRN CMC, and CSC certifications and hadn't gotten a dime more for my trouble. So I left to travel so they can search for a new bypass nurse.[/quote']

I would also like to take the CMC and CSC. Do you mind me asking what you used to study?

At my facility you get reimbursed for the test if you pass and a bonus every year, around 900 after taxes.

Specializes in CVICU/ER.

No increase and I had to pay for test out of pocket

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

PCCN here, but I get paid an extra $1 for having it. My facility did not offer any reimbursement for taking the exam. All of that along with study materials came out of my own pocket.

Specializes in CTICU/CVICU.

No increase that I know of but my hospital reimburses 50% of the cost of the exam.

Specializes in Critical Care.

Full reimbursement if you pass, can use it for career ladder ($$ incentives), and increase of $0.50/hr.

Specializes in Telemetry, Cath Lab, Critical Care, PACU.

$1.50/hr extra on current wage, no reimburstment of test fees, no bonus.

They pay 400 dollars for initial cert plus 1.75 extra with my base pay.

In my Twin Cities ICU (MNA union) there is no hourly diff for having any certification.

There is, however, a yearly 'bonus' of something like $350-500. Not nothing, but nothing super.
