I took my NCLEX passed and was never issued a license due to my previous record (conviction) 8 years ago. I’m scheduled for a hearing well now it’s virtual. I wanted to know if anyone been to a hearing, how is it like? Do they bring witness. I have some letters from family friends co workers. This is in NYS. Any advise suggestions will be appreciated. Yes I do have an attorney
Just to clarify.
submit your documents
Step 1: documents go to the investigator he goes over it. If he feels that no further investigation is needed we get license
Step 2: if more info needed you do moral character interview Then the report is made and sent for review to panel
Step 3: panel review includes judge, prosecutor and 3 panel members if they still cant get a decision then it goes to a hearing (if you decide to move forward)
correct?
lastly,im assuming when you do a character interview Step 3 is automatic

For me step 1 was to submit documents to investigator to complete package.
step 2 do interview with investigator on zoom.
step 3 wait for panel to review my interview, if nothing more is needed send to license
step 4 if more information is needed a hearing will be scheduled.
@SumNurse hey we are still waiting here. Our case worker states she is waiting to find a prosecutor to view the case/ video recorded Interview he did with her on 1/19/22 its been weeks since. He did the Interview via webex with caseworker. Anyone got updates with their cases? Anyone hear of ppl actually being awarded their licenses after all of this? Losing hope here… @pngrad2021

I got my license 6 months after my interview. Hopefully it’s faster for you guys but I just had to wait patiently until I received news from my investigator. I am thrilled I have my license in my hand.
@AlexaaraeeeRNdon’t lose hope. I still didn’t get mine. I will contact my attorney to see if he can touch base with the prosecutor. The investigator was really nice but he won’t speak to me because I’m being represented by an attorney. Let’s just keep the faith. @SumNurseI am so happy for you because I know how the wait for so long feels and you can finally move on with your career.
@SumNurse so we received an update from the caseworker yesterday. Caseworker said its going to a panel that the prosecutor could not make a decision. Shes gonna look for a panel and will assemble one by April. He needs to be present incase they wanna talk to him as well. Have any of you reached this stage before as well and how did that go with the panel. They told him after the panel they give him a decision within days @PNGrad2001

It hasn’t reached the panel as of yet. He stated he would let me know if they need me to be avail via zoom when they do set the date. I even called the nursing license place itself said they are waiting for an okay to clear the license and it’s nothing that can be done. So I’m just sitting on my hands a year in. I graduated 11/2020 passed NCLEX 12/2020 and still just sitting here. I wonder what’s taking so long just to review my video recording.
