I took my NCLEX passed and was never issued a license due to my previous record (conviction) 8 years ago. I’m scheduled for a hearing well now it’s virtual. I wanted to know if anyone been to a hearing, how is it like? Do they bring witness. I have some letters from family friends co workers. This is in NYS. Any advise suggestions will be appreciated. Yes I do have an attorney
I haven’t heard anything. I contacted my attorney he reached out to the investigator to find out if anything. The first time for my LPN I went for my interview last week of Feb I heard from them mid May( maybe due to Covid) Before I received the letter the investigator called me and emailed me a copy of the letter he was always nice. This time for my RN I got the same investigator I saw him last week of March I’ve yet to hear from them. I know the the board of regents have a meeting every month where the committee votes I don’t know if our case is part of that. I have so many opportunities lined up and all I can do is wait. Hope you hear something soon.
Aww bless your heart!! You said it with so much patience in you. I’m runningggggg out of patience. My attorney contacted me back in September saying that they got in touch with him they’ll let us no in 2 weeks it’s gone be 2 months next week. Try to reach out to the investigator to see if anything is happening yet at least you’ll know your file is somewhere and they’re not just gone hit you with the “ I didn’t receive all of your documents”. Good luck I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything. Hopefully soon
All I can do is have patience although I am very anxious I have a job waiting for me since March LOL I’m like well I hope it’s still there whenever it comes around! I spoke with investigator it hasn’t reached the board members yet for discussion so all I can do is pray and hope things work in my favor. I hopeful your decision comes back soon as well.
Hello, If you’re in NY when you apply you’ll have to answer “yes” if you have ever been arrested ( I can’t recall if that’s how the question was worded) they will allow you to take the NCLEX then if they need more info from you regarding your situation then you’ll be contacted. If not then your application will go through.
I was arrested on two occasions (2009, 2013) they are minor crimes but I know for sure they will make me go through all that interview process. Although I have the Florida CNA license that was granted to me in 2018, they made me send many papers but they gave me the license. I don't know how NY handles these cases. I don't know if I need a lawyer. My fear is that I can pass the NCLEX and NY will not give me the license. How long does this process take? You have to put the charges that you have to put all for which you were arrested. Because most of the charges were dropped and I paid some fines.
