I took my NCLEX passed and was never issued a license due to my previous record (conviction) 8 years ago. I’m scheduled for a hearing well now it’s virtual. I wanted to know if anyone been to a hearing, how is it like? Do they bring witness. I have some letters from family friends co workers. This is in NYS. Any advise suggestions will be appreciated. Yes I do have an attorney

I did the pre hearing conference which consist of the judge, prosecutor, the court reporter my attorney and there was another person there but I can't remember who she was. The hearing will be done virtually which my attorney said it would be best if I go to his office. I have 4 additional letters of reference ( church, coworker, uncle, friend) they had 3 that I submitted previously when they asked for them . None of my supporters will be able to attend virtually because of work the hearing is at 9am. I am so nervous the way it looks like I'm going to be sitting in court answering questions about a past that I left behind, now I have to go revisit what I did and some I forgot. I didn't know the members of the board asked questions, I thought they were there to listen and make decisions. The pre conference lasted about 45 minutes imagine the hearing LOL (in 2 weeks). I was hoping they would tell me the same day about their findings I waited 11 months already to wait another month OMG will be torture knowing that you're waiting on a decision.

@PNGrad2001 can we connect. Im unsure how to send you a message
@SumNurse See that is what I’m confused about because they told him that he would have to do an moral character interview and a prosecuter will review the documents but she also said in the very beginning that if she makes a decision for him then it’s left at that but if she can’t come to a decision then it gets escalated to a board then told him it an take anywhere from 2-3 months for a decision but it seems like you guys are waiting a lot longer. I’m trying to help him look for medical assistant jobs that clearly he is overqualified for but I want him to get in the medical field and get experience. It sucks to see you guys go through this

I was told I have to do an moral character interview with investigator. That interview get reviewed by 3 people they can make their decision at that time and if they needed more information then I would have to be present or come in for further questions. It’s been a year for me so far. I am a medical assistant as well Atleast he will work in the field and gain skills which do help in nursing.
Once you submit your documents to the investigator he goes over it. If he feels that no further investigation is needed he sends it back to have the license process. If he feels that he needs more info you are called for an interview. He prepares the report and sends it for review. (3 board members as mentioned in the previous message) then if the members were not able to make a decision, you have the right for a hearing. That’s when the waiting starts to get annoying because you don’t know when they’ll add your case to the calendar for a hearing. Take it one day at a time. Check with the investigator to see when they can bring him in for an interview or if they’re sending his paper work back to have his license processed. Now with the Holidays who knows. First thing first email the investigator to find out if they’re even reviewing the documents you submitted. Good luck all
@SumNurse if you went for your interview in August, it should go through a panel first before you go to a hearing if it even gets to a hearing. The panel may decide and you’ll be good to go. But before your hearing the panel has to make a decision if they’re able to and if not you’ll get a letter and the investigator will let you know what was the outcome

Hello all my fiancé currently sent his documents certified mail to his investigator last week. Any updates on your cases?
