8 months and still searching...New grad RN

I am willing to travel to any of the 5 boroughs in NY. I am available for any shift. Anywhere....Believe me I am trying to stay positive, however, I am getting soo weary. I work per diem as an aide and I have been unsuccessful to even get a full time job as an aide. I have no money to pay my rent and buy food. If you are a nurse recruiter or you know someone that is hiring or you know someone that know someone who is hiring please direct me so that I can apply....Thanks for even reading this mess.......

This brought tears to my eyes I'm in the same boat. PM me I can probably help you..I've been a CNA for 6 years an LPN for 4 and in 14 days it will be a year since I graduated from RN school. I'm currently at a nursing home and I hate every second of it and its making start to hate nursing! I didn't sign up for this crap. I was told experience or BSN sad thing is they don't consider my LPN years experience and I did a RN to BSN program online and just finished and that's not helping me either. I applied everywhere and can't find a damn job in a hospital- I don't know what to do anymore I even thought ACLS certification would help- nope! not even! I do chart reviewing on the side I don't know if you're interested I love it but I HATE the nursing home I'm ready to quit I'm been there 5 months

Hey guys...try Floral agency-Bronx..As you all know , I am a NEW grad too and I JUST got hired by them to a part time position in a nursing home...yup after 11 months so hang in there. I I hear anything else I will pass it on.

Very interesting, since a whole group of us (BSN) did our clinicals there and we asked for jobs, and were told that they are NOT HIRING.

You need to relocate! look into albany, buffalo...I had to move to another state and got hired in an ICU! so for nyc: screw you!!! ol' picky selfs!

lol...LMAO..I needed that..I am actually planning the move to houston next year. I would move now but nooo money.

I have been looking around for other agencies that will hire new grads but nothing yet...this is unbelievable!!!

I am learning to drive now so that I can move asap. Spoke with a nurse from Elmhurst who said she will bring in my resume but that it will be a long time before any new grads get hired since the hospital has been taking nurses from the hospitals that closed earlier this year. They give them preference and if any positions are left over after that, then they will begin to look at new grads.

Chamberlain.. I did it in 7 months but I took 3 classes at a time, lived online, and spent nights crying cause I had so many papers to write.

I am trying to make myself marketable......Can anyone recommend any free (or reasonable priced) ACLS, CPR, IV, PICC and CVC, EKG, PACLS, or critical care certificate in new york?...Thanks...

Free haha no! You wont find any of those classes for free. I do know of a reasonable pricing at a place called Long Island Rescue. CPR is 60 bucks, ACLS, PALS 200 bucks. Great teachers!
