What NOT to say during an interview
I just am Shocked someone would say this on an interview!! Or I guess in general!?? I know that other countries have different ideas about what is appropriate to say. Totally taboo to talk about someone's weight!!! I am shocked!!

DC Area Job Opportunities
Katiemarie, you just graduated in December. Almost everyone I know who did end up getting jobs including myself graduated LAST year. Your journey has just begun. I too graduated with honors and magna cum laude. Well the truth is there are hundreds more that did as well. The best bet for everyone is to befriend a "higher up" in which ever hospital you can. Unless you are a CNA at that particular facility the chance of you getting hired before 8-16 months of having graduated is low. The market is saturated and the economy is the worst its been since the great depression. Take certification classes, get another job, and don't forget you can defer your school loans if you have economic hardship. What has happened to us is unfair, however the fact that eventually there is a possibility of finding a job in our field puts us above say a business degree graduate. I should be celebrating one year as a floor RN however I will only be celebrating one month. We will all have stories for our grandchildren about this time so store the memories well. Good luck everyone!

Our new hire, new grad charge nurse
Is this a hospital or a LTC facility. The LTC facilities are going to hire RN's as charge nurses because their license covers all the legal aspects that LPN's cannot

New grad - landed job in LTC facility...any advice
I was too a new grad at a LTC facility. I was placed as charge nurse on the 3-11 shift and I had 1 lpn, 5 cna's and 60 residents. It was nuts! I enjoyed my time there and LEARNED SOOOO MUCH. Especially time management. I left because the facility was very shady. I was being left alone on the floor with out an LPN or short a CNA and it was dangerous! I didn't feel comfortable. So alas 2 months ago I left. I don't know if there is a patient to nurse ratio in Canada. If so then you will be fine! You will get to know your patients and love them! Always go with your gut!
