Montgomery College Nursing Spring 2015

Published

So I figured I would start a new thread for those applying to Montgomery College in Spring 2015.

I had applied to the nursing program in the fall of 2015 but was put on a "wait list" which was not used because my AP 1 and 2 were over 5 years old. I have since taken a pathophysiology class and so now the AP 1 and 2 will be counted towards the four core course requirements. I have a 3.45 GPA, I scored an 82.7 on my Teas, and I have all four of the required prerequisites finished.

I really hope I get in this time or I don't know what I am going to do. I have heard the spring semester is easier to get in which makes sense because you don't have all the high school seniors that will be graduating applying. Anyway good luck to everyone applying!

Just a heads up...do not try to plan your schedule around a particular clinical day just yet. You will not pick your clinical day until registration.

Also, anyone who is attending the program and living outside of Montgomery County, there is a waiver that you can get called the Maryland Health Manpower Shortage. This will allow you to pay in county tuition rates. The forms must be picked up in the nursing office and turned into the registration office. Be sure to do it the first week or two of class (or when you register).

Best of luck, speak up if you need help or advice.

Hi all, I too am awaiting a decision from MC Admissions and I can't decide whether I should remain optimistic after reading your posts. At the time of application (August 1st, right?) I didn't have an official A&P 2 grade yet, or Micro. Taking that now though :geek:

I live 5 miles from campus aaaaand .... No news yet. GPA is 3.5 and TEAS is >90%tile. I'd really like to be On My Way, darnit. Do you guys think my lack of "official" AP2 and Micro as of the date I applied will kill my chances ? Good luck to you all -- I'm sure I'll see you eventually out there ;-)

Pug, micro is not one of the priority courses. You have to take it eventually, but it wasn't one that had to be finished before going to nursing school. Some people actually take it while in nursing school. A&P 1 and 2 are priority courses, but someone earlier just posted how they were accepted even though they hadn't taken either A&P. So you should be okay. Not sure why it didn't come in your mail yet, but sometimes USPS sucks that way.

Hi All,

I got the notice today but was not home and have to go straight from school to work tomorrow so I will have to wait until FRIDAY. I will probably bail on the second half of my class tomorrow and try to pick it up because now I'm nauseous. I took all the core classes and I have a 77 on my TEAS. I will let you know! Congrats to all and I hope to join you on the 22nd.

Kim, if you got the notice ik the mail, then you got in. Only the ones that have to be signed for are acceptance letters. Where do you live? How near to the Takoma park campus are you?

Thanks for that, it makes me less anxious. I live in Bethesda near Montgomery Mall.

I got in!!!!!!!!! Sooo happy!!!!!!

Congrats hope!

Congrats everyone!!! See you all on Oct 22! =)

Sophia

p.s. I uploaded my pic so that you'll be able to recognize me!

I also got in. I'm so excited to be on this journey with you guys! Now the real hard work begins...

so have everyone finished their titers? How is that going with everyone. It sucks for me right now because I have needles and these doctors keep looking at me crazy saying, "but your going into nursing." lol
