Montgomery College Nursing Spring 2015

Published

So I figured I would start a new thread for those applying to Montgomery College in Spring 2015.

I had applied to the nursing program in the fall of 2015 but was put on a "wait list" which was not used because my AP 1 and 2 were over 5 years old. I have since taken a pathophysiology class and so now the AP 1 and 2 will be counted towards the four core course requirements. I have a 3.45 GPA, I scored an 82.7 on my Teas, and I have all four of the required prerequisites finished.

I really hope I get in this time or I don't know what I am going to do. I have heard the spring semester is easier to get in which makes sense because you don't have all the high school seniors that will be graduating applying. Anyway good luck to everyone applying!

I gotta my letter as well.

It was funny, because when I received the envelope (it is a small envelope) I thought it was a denial letter, because last year the acceptance letter was in a big envelope. So I did not want to open, I was crying... But then I decided to open to see why I gotta denied for -- so it was an acceptance letter. So happy!

Do you live by the school too?

Hope_w_the_feathers I live 3 miles from Campus.

Dream,

i am am tryin to get a better idea of how many days and hours I will be attending classes and clinicals during the week. I know you attended one semester ... What does a week typically look like?

Smolfe it is two half days and one full day (6:40am - 5:00pm). But you also have to do lab hours, and live simulations

My schedule was, Tuesday 2:00pm-5:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am - 2:00pm and Friday 6:40am - 5:00pm.

Wednesday we had no breaks. No time to eat. Cannot eat and/or drink in the assessment class. And Friday we had 1 hours break for lunch.

So... You had these three days ( for your schedule) plus lab and live simulations? How many hours do the lab and live simulation generally take up? Are the labs or live simulations the same thing as clinicals ?

Lab is one hour per week and live simulations is only three times during the semester, it takes about a hour too. They are not the same thing as clinical. Clinical is at the hospital dealing with patients.

Was Friday your clinical?

Yes, I had clinicals on Fridays.

MAJOR CONGRATS to.all.of you who have already received the great news!! Im in Alexandria so I'll be waiting until the end of the week, maybe. What has been making me feel good is being told that there.is almost a dire need for male nurses. Hopefully that worked in my favor. Could someone tell me, what day is orientation?

The orientation is on Wednesday October 22nd.
