Montgomery College Nursing Spring 2015

Published

So I figured I would start a new thread for those applying to Montgomery College in Spring 2015.

I had applied to the nursing program in the fall of 2015 but was put on a "wait list" which was not used because my AP 1 and 2 were over 5 years old. I have since taken a pathophysiology class and so now the AP 1 and 2 will be counted towards the four core course requirements. I have a 3.45 GPA, I scored an 82.7 on my Teas, and I have all four of the required prerequisites finished.

I really hope I get in this time or I don't know what I am going to do. I have heard the spring semester is easier to get in which makes sense because you don't have all the high school seniors that will be graduating applying. Anyway good luck to everyone applying!

I'm going to call you Hermione from now on if you got your books already haha

I did actually. Hahaha. Only cost me $230. And the nursing program said they had a deal for $700? Um, no, thanks!!! lol.

Hey, for those who took CPR with me, I got my card in the mail! You should be getting yours too!

awesome, thanks for that post!

hey I just noticed that my doctor missed a spot on the paper. When it comes to the blood pressure section did your doctors fill in the portion that said sitting dias. and recumbent dias.???? or did they just put a check mark or something by it?

I also was just on precheck.com to order the background and drug screening. I was able to find the background check but I cant seem to locate the drug screening. Im glad all my medical stuff is together but maybe I should have done this part sooner? does anyone know how to do it? Im looking all over and can't locate it on the site.

this is what the orientation packet says about that. I followed everything in the packet.

Thanks, I did it. So I just take this to the nursing department directly right?

Yeah, you just submit the receipts that you paid for both of them.

Who had registration today? What was it like? Did you get a low/high number? Did you get the clinical you wanted???

I did! I got #4. Yes, I got the clinical I wanted. I'm at Holy Cross on Mondays. I chose Mondays to get clinical out of the way first thing in the week. My NU113 lecture is on Tuesdays at 11am. The other hospital choices were Suburban, Medstar, and another one called "Sibley (sp?)

the day begins with Matthews talking, and then Davis talking (almost like orientation but shorter)

while they're talking, the little bag is passed around for the lottery numbers.

Then everyone goes to get registered. The first 10 go first in another room while everyone else are still sitting behind, then the next 10, and so on.

we also tried on uniforms from Fenton and ordered our sizes.

Did they say if Shady Grove was still an option or not? It was one of the options in our packet. Also, how long did it end up taking?
