So I figured I would start a new thread for those applying to Montgomery College in Spring 2015.
I had applied to the nursing program in the fall of 2015 but was put on a "wait list" which was not used because my AP 1 and 2 were over 5 years old. I have since taken a pathophysiology class and so now the AP 1 and 2 will be counted towards the four core course requirements. I have a 3.45 GPA, I scored an 82.7 on my Teas, and I have all four of the required prerequisites finished.
I really hope I get in this time or I don't know what I am going to do. I have heard the spring semester is easier to get in which makes sense because you don't have all the high school seniors that will be graduating applying. Anyway good luck to everyone applying!
I just made my appointment for the lab drug screen. Did the rest of you just print out a copy of the receipt to take to the lab to show you already paid?
Umi, there is not ONE certain place that everyone has to go to do the drug screening. You go to any LabCorp that is near you. Any LabCorp that does drug screening. All I did was go to the LapCorp page, put in your zipcode, and find a LabCorp close to you and look at the testing they do there. Find one that says drug screens and go there. Call to see if you need to make an appointment. My LabCorp did not need me to make an appointment before I came in.
Also, it was free for me. I think it is free for everyone... All they asked me when I went was for Photo ID (and of course the Chain of Custody form). Otherwise, nothing else. No insurance card or $$. Since we already paid for the drug testing beforehand, and we have that copy that we take there, that's proof of payment. Sfranci, like I said, all you really need to take with you is that sheet we were given (Chain of Custody Form). That is all they need to see. Well, that and a Photo ID. My LabCorp didn't need anything else.
So I went to the book store to get the bundle and they said it won't be in until next week. Did you buy your books a la carte? I have a fundamentals book from a previous RN program I was in a few years ago that I had to leave so I can start reading although it's a different book, but essentially the same subject matter. What did you start reading? I also searched for the closed group on FB but couldn't find it. Will someone invite me? My FB profile is Kimberly Diane Hull.
I started reading the fundamentals book. I got a used book on Amazon for just $14. I like it though because the previous owner highlighted some really good points throughout the book. I'm in chapter 6 so far. I'm reading ahead because I work part-time too. So I thought by reading ahead, I'll better absorb the material when the semester starts.
Hi everyone! I'm also a nursing student at MC (incoming second semester student this spring). I'm wondering if any of you is still looking to buy shoes and or stethoscope.
