Montgomery College Nursing Spring 2015

Published

So I figured I would start a new thread for those applying to Montgomery College in Spring 2015.

I had applied to the nursing program in the fall of 2015 but was put on a "wait list" which was not used because my AP 1 and 2 were over 5 years old. I have since taken a pathophysiology class and so now the AP 1 and 2 will be counted towards the four core course requirements. I have a 3.45 GPA, I scored an 82.7 on my Teas, and I have all four of the required prerequisites finished.

I really hope I get in this time or I don't know what I am going to do. I have heard the spring semester is easier to get in which makes sense because you don't have all the high school seniors that will be graduating applying. Anyway good luck to everyone applying!

Yeah, shady grove was an option too! Sorry, I forgot to mention that.

it should take at most three hours. It took me two hours since I got a good number (#4)

but honestly, I didn't care about getting a good number. I thought, what the heck, I'll go wherever I end up at

Hi Guys,

Did anyone gotta the reading assignment? Professor Davis said she was going to give it to us at the registration, right?

thanks

Dream, she said that she would email the assignment to us as well as the syallbi, etc.

Hey All,

Would any of you be interested in starting a Facebook group? I feel like it's a bit easier to communicate that way. That way we can keep each other updated and then hopefully use it for study groups and questions throughout the semester.

Megan

Definitely a great idea on the Facebook group!

I'll def join if a facebook group is created

Does anyone know when the drug test urinalysis is due by? I think it is the 15th of January but just wanted to confirm that. Thanks!

It is written on the sheet of paper we were given. It is due January 9th. I already got mine done. The weird thing is that they didn't give me the sheet back (the carbon copy) but a photocopy of it instead... :-/ hopefully, that is good enough.

They didn't give me either. I was really upset, but they convinced me it's gonna be enough.

I was also given a photocopy. It has all the same stuff as the carbon copy they said. I think it should be fine.

We can register today (if you have your finances in place, haha)

I registered already. Couldn't wait any longer ahahah

Anybody knows the location of the clinic for the drug screening lab? I came to the Nursing office and asked the front desk lady (Ms. Colleen?), but she didn't know either @@ She told me that there's only one place and that everyone goes there, so just google it.

I've called the number on the sample paper, and they gave me this address: 12210 Plum Orchard Drive, Suite 215, Silver Spring, MD 20904. Was it the location that you guys went to?

When setting up appointment at that address, the Section "Reason for Testing" has some options, but I chose "Employment Drug Screen". Also, for the question "Will you be fasting?", I chose "Yes". not sure if it's right. Do you know the cost of this test? I don't have any health insurance :(

And one more thing, (sorry if I've asked alot TT__TT), as I remember on the registration day, Ms. Diana Matthews has said that we have to register for the classes first, then bring proof of registration to the Nursing Office and somebody (I forgot her name) will give a letter stating that once the student enters the program he/she will be a full-time student even if that student has fewer than 12 credits on the Spring semester. But when I came to the office, Ms. Colleen told me that it was wrong, that I have to send her an email stating the reason why I want the letter and stuff. I'm a little bit confused here, who should I follow? I really need that letter to submit to the Financial Aid Office, did any of you guys receive the letter? If the answer is yes, then....how? How did you receive it?
