Montana State University Accelerated BSN

Published

Hi there,

Im really interested in applying to the accelerated bachelor's of nursing in bozeman, but haven't really found a lot of information on it since its fairly new. I was wondering if anyone on these boards have attended it and what your experience has been? I was also wondering if you would share the stats you were admitted with (GPA, level of experience etc)

Thanks so much! Any input at all would be very appreciated

I have heard great things about it. I didn't go through it tho so not much help sorry.

Did you end up applying to Montana's ABSN? It's also a program I've been looking at, but like you haven't been able to find much info.

Thanks!

I was accepted to the 2018 ABSN at MSU but they placed me in Great Falls. I declined and asked to get put on the Bozeman waitlist. Has anyone else been accepted?

Hi Kate, I applied to MSU and was given placement at great falls and accepted it, because they said I would probably not get into Bozeman. Did you end up getting in?

Hi Sam,

I found a few weeks ago they had an opening at the Bozeman campus so I accepted it!

Hi everyone! I am applying for MSU ABSN for fall 2019. As we all have found out there is not much information on the internet about the program. Can anyone who has graduated or got accepted fill me in on the application process, pre req gpa etc.

Thanks!

I don't know about an ABSN program at MSU that starts in the fall. I think the ABSN program starts only in May... maybe the traditional program starts in Fall?

The application process is similar to all the other ABSN programs I applied to in that it is on NursingCAS, but there are two interviews once your application is looked over and approved (they can be skype if not in montana). They require an essay, and I can't remember if volunteer hours are required or just looked favorably upon, but to be competitive you should have volunteer experience. MSU also requires you to get all your immunization paperwork and background tests done while in the application process. Though it is unlike any of the other programs, once accepted you don't have to put money down to hold your spot or do anything further because you have already done the paperwork to start. At other schools you have to send them your acceptance, start getting immunizations and things done and put a deposit down to hold your spot. Hey Kate and Sam, congrats on being accepted to the program!

I am planning to apply this coming fall for the May 2019 program. Could you fill us in a bit more on what the application process was like, particularly the essay and interview process? I'd also be curious to hear more about your backgrounds or other characteristics that you think were looked upon favorably during the application process.

Thanks for the help!

Greg

Hi Greg! I am planning on applying to Montana States accelerates bachelors in nursing program for the 2019 cohort as well! I am going to begin the application process this weekend :) are you still planning on applying? and did you find out any more information on the program? I have not been able to find out much, other than what is on the school website!

hello all! I was just accepted into MSU's ABSN program. I can't figure out the total cost of the program to save my life. Could someone please help me with this? I will be paying out of state tuition.

Hi Katie, congrats! What location? I’ve been accepted to the Missoula location. I too had trouble figuring out the total cost so I called in and was told the in state tuition is 28,000 & the out of state out of state is 63,000
