Hey!
Has anyone been accepted to this Monroe college program? I know they used to have it and recently bought it back. Any thought?

Thank you for your positive response. But my first application and rejection hit me hard. I got a 75% on TEAS and really good grades n GPA yet Nassau told me that it’s highly competitive and the TEAS score could be higher, that is why I’m nervous. And I don’t want to take it unless told to do so because it can become the issue of me taking it too soon for second time. So I’ll wait to hear what the advisor suggest.
but I really hope I get a chance at my dream. Nassau application who got accepted had up until 12/4 to accept or decline the seat. So I’m not sure if there is a small window where I still have a shot this week to hear from Nassau. ??♀️

I’m not sure. I just submitted my docs to Monroe and waiting to hear if they have a spot fir me in Spring 20201. If not I will be going in for fall 2021. But I need help/advice with the essay? Is it really the make or break decision? And was there an oral interview? I’m nervous about that.

Hi OK will do.
I just saw your comment. Thanks
Hello everyone. Does anyone know if Introduction to Health Care Policy, Introduction to Health Informatics, Race/Ethnicity and Health, Global Health Issues and Speech can be taken while you're in the the nursing program. From what I've seen, Monroe is one of the only schools that have these as prerequisites, whereas the majority of nursing programs only require your regular A&P, Chem, Micro, Psych, Stats, and etc. Do you have to take these classes at Monroe before being applying and being accepted? Thanks.

I was told that we have to take them before taking the nursing courses.

Yes, we have to. I got Chemistry, intro to healthcare, global, advance writing and Chemistry lab. They said we have to finish taking all the major prerequisites before starting the main nursing courses in September.

also. Peeps starting in Jan, we should share contact info!!
I don’t know, I don’t understand them either. I took most of my pre-req at city tech. Monroe wants me to take Chemistry and maths class again because it’s over 5 years.

I hope you are right, because I waited too long and paid my way through college went every night and earn my associate, took 2 yrs off after I got my associate degree because of family issues now it’s like trying to move mountains getting into nursing and as every day passes, my credits wil expire for some requirement/college. I’m hoping for some sunlight through the grey clouds when I speak to the advisor this week. Thank you for your reply! Best wishes to all
