Modesto Junior College Fall 2013/Spring 2014

Hello everyone. I thought I would start a discussion on the application cycle for Modesto Junior College's ADN program. I called the nursing department about 3 weeks ago and was told that they are anticipating some 800 applicants and that they expect to have letters sent out no later then August 1st. :nailbiting: This is the last school I waiting to hear back from and the anticipation is killing me! I was just recently laid off from my job and am holding off on going back to work until I find out the results. How is everyone else holding up?

Hi jstrawberry, I am so glad to encounter your forum. So glad to discover 12-13 year applicant. I'm anxiously waiting to hear back from this school as well. Long story, but I am crossing my fingers, praying, asking family to pray for me as well that I will get into Fall 2013 or Spring 2014. Good-luck to you!

Wow!! I am very surprised that there is still no word yet. Orientation is on the 12th of August too.

I am waiting for my letter too. I am 4th time applicant! I have my fingers crossed, please God bless me this time! Do u guys have any idea how many time applicant is mostly get into the program? I am just curious cuz of my 4th application. Nice to see that u guys are making comment chain regarding getting into program.

Hey sam7900!! I haven't heard anything about having better chances at Modesto C.C. if you are a previous applicant. What other schools (if any) have you applied to through out the years? This is my second year applying to nursing schools and it is frustrating. I currently live in Oakland and am hoping against hope I get into this school, it is the last school I waiting to hear back from for the next year.

I am a third time applicant, you get one additional entry for each time you have applied, so i have 3 entries and you would have 4. this turns 800 applicants into 800+ additional entries so there is more than 800. Also every time I have applied i have not heard a thing until around the first week of august.

Glad to have finally found a thread for this application period! I'm a first time applicant. Can't imagine how you 3rd and 4th timers feel! Good luck!!! We are so close to finding out!!!! :)

Can anyone tell me what the "Columbia Satellite" location is? I was just reading at Modesto CC's website that 10 students are choosen for that location and 73 study nursing at Modesto CC.

The Columbia campus is just a smaller campus in a different location, Columbia, which I believe is an hour and a half away or so. It's a small campus that's why they only accept 10 for that campus. Hope that helps. Anyone else counting down the hours?! Haha I keep checking the website hoping it will be updated to say that the letters have been sent out...but no luck yet!

They updated their website today saying they will mail them out on the 1st if all goes well. They also changed the orientation to a later date which makes sense since August is rapidly approaching.
