MJC allnurses 2020

Updated:   Published

Hi guys! I thought it would be a great idea to start a new thread for those of us who are planning on applying to Modesto Junior College RN program. It would be great if we would all share with how many points we are applying with, this would give us an idea to see what are our chances are on getting in the program. With all the new changes, it is hard to tell what the cutoff on the points will be. I will be retaking my TEAS and hoping to apply with maybe 80 points or so. Hopefully ?????

Okay thanks! I trust what Marcos says

Are you getting your course descriptions from the online catalog or the hard cover? Do you think it matters which one?
Also, you’re right about some of the catalog covers not having visible years. Hopefully our documentation will be okay.

The online catalog. I emailed asking and they said it’s okay that the cover page doesn’t have the years on it. Because the actual course description page has the years at the top

I submitted my supporting docs via certified mail today. I hope all my courses are deemed equivalent. Hope to hear good news in April!!

I emailed Marcos and he said you do need course descriptions for the 8 prerequisites only

Hi there! I counted at least 7 prerequisites so i just wanted to make sure that I am not missing anything:

2A) Anat, Micro, Physio = 3

2C) English = 1

2D) Psych, Socio, Comm = 3

For a total of 7 (Plus the 2E courswork of Nutrition, MNurse, and Medical Terminology for up to 10)

Am I missing one? What would be the 8th? Algebra/Stats?

Thank you! ?

I was thinking the same thing. Didn’t they ask about chem?

also kendis told me today that merced college didn’t need to print course descriptions but I’m going to do it anyway

Also, anyone taken courses at Merced college and are printing course descriptions for it? Their catalog cover page does not show the years on it. I emailed MJC and they said it was okay, but I'm still worried about it.

And for the need to work criteria, I read through it several times. I believe it is okay to just give a pay stub without needing a signature correct?

Thanks!

Hi. yes it was either pay stubs or signed verification from your employer. I had similar issue with online catalog from ARC. They don't have the actual front cover, but the second page. I took the time to go to the counseling office to get it, but it would've been ok since that is what the school has posted online. However, with all these schools, you never know how "literal" the reviewers will be when it comes to certain criterion.

Im going to say yes with that because at the top of the summary it says official transcript needs to show math 89 or equivalent so I printed a course description for the equivalent to that as well

yes, you need to provide the math pre-req as well.

Thanks! I'll place it in. Better to be safe. ?

How will we know the cut-off? Is it after they make selections and we ask each other?

A math that is equivalent to Math 89 (or a higher math)!

Are we suppose to print the entire page where the prerequisite course is at?
