Hi guys! I thought it would be a great idea to start a new thread for those of us who are planning on applying to Modesto Junior College RN program. It would be great if we would all share with how many points we are applying with, this would give us an idea to see what are our chances are on getting in the program. With all the new changes, it is hard to tell what the cutoff on the points will be. I will be retaking my TEAS and hoping to apply with maybe 80 points or so. Hopefully ?????

Hello Irene thanks for making this post....I plan on applying in February, I can’t wait. I‘m hopeful. Applying with 80 points is good. I plan applying with the same 80 points. Right now I am taking a CNA course, and finishing my extra classes to transfer. I took my teas and got a score of 72% but if l retake maybe I’ll score higher and get more points than 80.
Hi Chasity! So glad to hear back from someone, hope we get many more responses! I also cant wait to apply. I have been taking prerequisites for a looong time and I just want to be a nurse already! Hopefully everything goes good for us and we get into the program. I am very nervous because it is hard to tell what the cutoff will be this next application period. Good luck!

Hi guys! I’m applying with about 80 points. I’m studying right now to re take the teas for the second time to hopefully get a higher score and apply with more than 80 points.

It's getting close to that time... How is everyone's application going?
I'm unfortunately not ready to apply, but I'm really interested to see how things go for applicants this year with the new system.

Hello Irene,
thanks for creating this post. I have been trying to get an idea about points needed to get in to MJC ADN program.
I will be applying with 77 points. I got 90% on TEAS and have a 4.0 gpa, but I didn’t do food and nutrition or CNA. looks like most people who have replied to this post have around 80 points. I’m not sure if 77 will make the cut. But I’m hopeful.
Hello! This year will be hard to tell what the cutoff will be since the way points are distributed just changed. 90% on the teas is awesome!!! What did you use to study for the teas and how long did you study for ?
It seems TEAS score is not worth as many points as it was in the past; at least for MJC. I studied using the “ATI secretes study guide”. I also just finished math 89, so that was still fresh and I got 100% on math section.I also purchased the 2 practice tests. I installed an ATI science app on my phone , it was like $2.99, I used it when I had down time at work and while I waited in line for rides at Disneyland. I probably put in about an hour and half each day for about 5 weeks. Good luck to all, keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi! I'm planning on applying this Feb as well, and am taking the TEAS next week. I didn't do as well as I would have liked in Physio and am planning on retaking it at Stan State this spring semester. I know it won't help me in applying this year, but hopefully next year. Does anyone know if MJC's program allows retakes of prereqs? I have heard some schools won't accept the grade if you received a C or better the first time. I can't seem to find any info stating you can't retake prereqs on MJC's website. Thanks! Good luck to everyone applying this year!

Hi! I’m applying in February. I have all As and 1 B with a 78 on the TEAS. I’m hoping if I don’t have the scores we have a chance with the lottery! Good luck to everyone :)
