Missouri Salary Poll

U.S.A. Missouri

Sorry for the tacky question, but I'm curious: What is your salary? How many years have you been working as an RN? What MO city do you live in? What area do you work in? Thanks!

Specializes in critical care transport.
Dumb question from a nursing student: does this mean that it would be +$5.00 for weekend nights?

Not a dumb question- I graduated and just passed boards, and I need clarification on sooo many things still. One day you won't be a nursing student and you'll be a nurse who other people go to.

Specializes in Med/Surg <1; Epic Certified <1.

Yeah, and I've started a job with a local hospital as a GN, and I wasn't sure what the answer was, lol. I was, however, hoping that it meant BOTH differentials!! I just haven't worked a weekend yet to find out!!

We'll all learn together!!

Well I just graduated and interview with several positions around the KC area. The average pay is $20 base. Truman is 20.50, 3.50 night, 1.00 weekend; KU is 21.50, 5.65 night, 2.00 weekends; HCA's are 19.65, 2.00 evening, 3.00 night, 2.00 weekend. Children's mercy I cant remember but it was 21.?? base. These are all new grad starting rates so I have no idea for nurses with exp.

HCA's are now $20.40, with $3.00 nights, $2.00 weekends. I attend Research College of Nursing and was told this by HR and nursing recuriter who attended our class. They are planning to increase base pay to at least $1.00 by next May, in time for the 2009 grads. This is at Research and I currently work at Lee's Summit Medical Center as a Nurse Intern and it's the same pay there. Most of the HCA's are about the same in pay, expect Centerpoint, which is about $19 and some change. HCA is also going to adopt the Clinical Ladder pay scale too.

Specializes in SICU, ER, MEDICAL.
CM 33/hr days

what does cm mean?

Specializes in SICU, ER, MEDICAL.

Now I make 21.023 base pay hour --- 1 year experience St. Louis North County Step down ICU. My small raise has gone into action

1.90 for weekends

2.40 for evenings diff

2.90 for night diff

I am due to get my raise this month.. I will update again

cm=case management

I am a new nursing student, but I have nursing friends who make about $26/hr for 10+ years of experience in the St. Louis Area. :D From what I understand, it really depends on where you work (ER, ICU, floor, PCP, etc.)

Specializes in Geriatrics.

The last nursing home I worked at paid me $19.68/hr. and that was with 16 years of experience in geriatrics. I just interviewed for a PRN job with Corrections and would start at $25/hr. with evening and night shift differentials I think around $2 (I can't remember what exactly she quoted me).

A base nursing home RN/DON starts at $50k/year for ADN's as well as higher degrees.

We live 2 hours north of Kansas City. We just bought a house 2 years ago with 4-5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and 2 acres of land for $134k. Cost of living here is very cheap.

Blessings, Michelle

Thanks everyone. I just started looking for a job in the KC area and was aondering what to expect as far as pay went.

st. louis as agency RN at 40 with benefits,

Specializes in Med/Surg, OB, Home Health/Hospice.
I've been looking into MO and am shocked not only at the pay..but at how little the increase is for experience. I talked to a recruiter today who told me new RN's start at $17.45 and with 1 yr experience in ICU I could expect $17.80. I've been at my current job 10 months. I've already had a .96 raise and will get another one when I hit 1 year. (MN)- unfortunately it's cold and I don't want to be here.

Missouri pay is low, BUT so is the cost of living. You can buy a nice house under 100K and gas right now is $1.45/gal. Weigh the factors. I am from NY and LOVE Missouri.
