Missed NCLEX date anything I can do?

Updated:   Published

It was the 16th and not the 23rd like I thought. The money sucks but I'm over it, but why the hell is my ATT invalidated and now I have to wait 4-5 days to get a new ATT then HOPE there is a open date to take my NCLEX next week which I'm pretty damn sure there won't be.

standardized test they made up to make more money off of offering the test itself and programs to train [KAPLAN etc]you to take the test, its all about them making money in the end.

why do we have to reapply to board of nursing, I failed NCLEX twice already and never had to do that? I just repaid with pearson and then got my ATT emailed to me

if you miss a date, if you had ID issues and did not take the test, you do per state have to repay, been there. had ID issues, it counted as a missed exam.i had to repay everything all over, again make sur you can BON in your home state and check. i did.

I understand your frustration. But in the nursing profession, professionalism is important. While you do have a point, it is also essential to take responsibility for your action. What if this is a nursing assignment? What if you did not show up for work? There are a lot of people who wants to schedule their exam, and by not showing up on your exam they are also loosing money. You have to see that you have 24-hours prior to taking the exam to cancel. They reiterated multiple times that they do not accept any reason for missing the test date.

Ya i couldnt cancel it because i thought it was THE 23rd!

Who is loosing money?????????? nclex or whoever gets a extra 200$ becuase i forgot.

I dont care about getting my money back i get it.

I dont want to wait 45 days to re-schdule as this is a "no show" not a "fail"

Will I have to wait 45 days after I get my ATT to sit for this test?

OK but you still haven't explained what the 'test' is or what it proves! There is no way that we would pay for any test here if it was an integral part of our training programme! We lose enough in pay to do the course, eat beans for 3 yrs & give up on holidays & a social life!!

I did my training in my mid 30's so had some financial security but, believe me, knowing what I do now, I wouldn't do it again, or encourage anyone else to do it!!

It happened to my classmate. Due to horrific traffic--as in water main break paralyzing the whole city--she missed her test appointment. She called Pearson and explained what happened but still had to shell out the money to schedule a new test.

You could ask but I wouldn't bet on them refunding your money or rescheduling your test for free. Sorry this happened to you.

its not the money that majorly ****** me off its the fact that i may have to wait 45 days to take the test itself i find totally utterly backward.Give me a new ATT fine, make me pay 200$ again fine, but let the ATT test date be valid immediately

I'm from UK! Please can you tell me just what NCLEX is?? Whatever it is, why do you have to pay for it? Where does it fit into your training programme?
NCLEX is the US boards and to practice as a RN or LPN (think enrolled nurse) the exam has to be passed and this includes international nurses looking at working in the US. Each state requires application once graduated from approved course, some schools include cost in program for first attempt. The exam is administered by a separate entity and costs $200 to sit exam and if taken outside the US (certain countries administer the exam) and costs a further $150

according to the ncsbn website (ncsbn.org):[color=#333333]

please note - if you missed an exam appointment or your att expired, you do not have to wait the 45 or 90 day period before you can retest. questions regarding testing limits, resubmitting materials, background checks, or licensing fees should be directed to your board of nursing.[color=#333333]t

to retake the nclex examination:

  • contact your board of nursing and notify them that you plan to re-take the exam. determine what materials or fees you need to resubmit to the board.

  • reregister with pearson vue and pay the $200 dollar fee.

  • once the board makes you eligible you will receive a new authorization to test (att) and be able to schedule an exam date.

hot dam thats awesome ty ty tytytyt!!!!!

You've taken the NCLEX twice already, why the shock over the process? You should be used to it already. The rules are the rules. And though they may not make sense to you, they have to be followed. You come across as really angry, even towards people on this site that you are asking advice from. Hopefully if you can get this ATT situation squared away and finally pass boards you will not take your present attitude to your workplace and make your patients suffer.

are you a robot you pretty much re said what you stated earlier... I dont quite follow what you are saying

That was very insulting thing to say to someone who took the time to respond to your post.

Toughen up and wait the 5 days. You won't die.
