What a horrific thing to happen. Our sympathy to all those involved be they victim, EMS, fire service or hospital personal. So far, only one confirmed fatality but just looking at the live pictures, that seems destined to change. My immediate thought was "shift change at 7" - I hope too early for medical workers to be on their way to work, and too early for the others to be on their way home. I hope that's true.
Please let us know how you all are.....
heavenly father, please pray for the victims and survivors that were affected by the Minnesota bridge collaspe. Our prayers to everyone.God help us all.
Yes! I didn't see this site before I posted...my family goes on this bridge every day; and my sister-in-law crossed it not an hour before this happened.
Hi
My DH yold me about this bridge collapse when I woke up this evening!!
How Horrible!!
We have driven on that bridge occasionally when on vacation.
I saw some of the Fox News Footage!! What a terrible mess.
My heart also goes out to all of the affected people. We also have some relatives up there, but have not heard from anyone.
Please, these people really need our prayers.
Apparantly the response from the medical community has been excellent!!

I hope you hear that your family are all safe Real Soon!
I live 15 miles away from Minneapolis and this is just so sad and shocking. I am glad that the bus full of children are okay though. I'm watching Kare 11 right now and they are saying it's going to be two years to rebuild the bridge. I guess cracks and vibrations may have caused the collapse. My prayers go out to the families that have lost a loved one through this tragedy.
I work in a Minneapolis Metro hospital and when the bridge collapsed, we went to Operation Orange standby, as I'm sure all hospitals did. I was amazed when I started to call everyone on the list to put them on standby, and many were calling in already offering to come in! I heard the same thing happened all over the hospital! We even had many physicians calling in to see if they were needed. Yeah for our wonderful hospital staff! You all ROCK!
On a personal note, I did not know anyone involved, however had it been a Thursday instead of a Wednesday, my 17 yr old daughter may well have been on that bridge driving to her volunteer service in St. Paul! Scary, huh? My heart goes out to everyone involved and to all the rescue folks who worked (and still are!) so hard!
Yep, we were in Code Orange also, being we are not far from the bridge, maybe a couple miles, not even. Day shifters were required to stay to help out, even though I offered to stay. Us ICU RNs were needed in the ED. We had just practiced a Code Orange about a month ago!! This is a main bridge/Interstate to get around the twin cities, especially in and out of downtown. How sad
From the news reports it looks like the nurses/doctors/all other medical workers at the Minneapolis hospitals did an amazing job. News casts made it look like everything went amazingly smooth. Much thanks to all those health care workers!
Fortunately I don't think I know anyone involved in the bridge collapse. Freakish thing is if I hadn't changed my plans I would have been traveling on/towards the bridge around the time it collapsed. I never though I would be thankful for not feeling well.

Tonight I came into work early (I live in Rochester). We have a TV in our break room and I saw the pictures of the 35 W bridge fallen into the river! OMG! First of course I paniced as I have family in the cities and was worried about them being caught in all this! Thank God they are all fine, my sister-in-law had been on that very bridge a hour or so earlier!
You just don't expect this in MN! My heart goes out to all those families...how terrible.
