Mildred Elley NYC?

Published

Hello All I would like some updated info on mildred elley any information about the lpn program. Anything and everything about the program would be appreciated.

I was once registered there. They told us they had a LPN program, at the time it was not true. They wanted you to do medical assistant then do LPN, which is a waste of time and a huge $30,000 bill(then pay another $18,000 for LPN making it a total of $48,000!!!!!!). Also at the time I went they really didn't have a LPN program, so a lot of us just left mid first semester. I spoke to someone from my old class and they said they finished the medical assistant and the school made them take a TEAS test and said they would help them find a LPN school smh ridiculous. My friends sister went there about 6 months ago to ask and she said they still try to force you to finish their medical assistant program before you can take LPN. If you see their advertisements they only advertise their medical assistant program so whether they have one really or not I still don't know.

Thank You for the info!:)

I know they have an LPN program a friend of my graduated but she was in the first group of LPN's so it went rather easily but I was just wondering about whats happening now because my friend went in 2010.

hey ladyleo. have you checked out AMG in downtown brooklyn? Their programs start in march if your looking for something sooner than the NYCDOE practical nursing program.

Thank you triniminnie102 do they have a website I looked but couldn't find one and what does AMG stand for ? Are you going to attend AMG? What do you know about this school?

Here's the website

http://www.mildred-elley.edu/academics/new-york-city-metro

When I went for the open house they stated that everyone starts in with the MA curriculum.

A friend of mine called and was told as of this year the programs are separate you just need to take the teas test if it's been over 1 year since testing, but it's always best to get the info for yourself.

Best of luck

Also the school is approved by the department of education for their LPN program. For a listing of other schools visit the office of professions website.

They currently dont have a website and I am attending NYCDOE practical nursing program but one of my friends go there. They are approved but are a but are on the pricier side. Their tuition is about 20k but their applications process is easy. All you have to do is take one test to get into the school.

darkreign27 Thank you for the info but I couldn't find AMG website, But I didn't know that the programs are now separate that makes a big difference I didn't like the fact that I had to start in the MA program especially since I am already a MA so that really turned me off from mildred elley. So now Thanks to my allnurses I have to calls to make Monday AMG and Mildred Elley. Thank you so much :)

No problem. Keep in mind that since AMG hasn't been around very long (I believe a year or two) you would have to cover your tuition with loans since they don't qualify to be paid with financial aid yet. When I called earlier this year I was also informed that they have their own entrance exam that they use, so if you have any Tabe, Teas, or Cnet scores it won't matter. They also have a testing fee in addition to their application fee which is about 115.00 if I remember correctly. Give them a call maybe something can be worked out or even better maybe they offer

financial aid now :-)

I hope this helps.
