Middle Georgia Applicants Fall 2014

Okay, Lets get it started! Who has applied to Middle Georgia College for Fall 2014? If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and Hesi scores? My GPA is 3.8 and my Hesi score was 82 over all with an 80 in Reading and an 86 in math! Does anyone know what they base their decision on? More on GPA than Hesi? The wait is going to kill me! Is anyone already in the BSN program that can tell me how it is?

Students in the BSN program have the option to take classes in the Summer if a class needed is offer in the Summer, which would make the course load lighter the following semester. However, the graduation date doesn't change.

I'm looking online at the Nursing Student Handbook from Fall 2013 and it doesn't look like ASN students have to attend summer classes; however, BSN students do have a 2 summer classes. Not sure if they're changing this year.

I spoke with the nursing advisor today while at the WR campus completing my FA paperwork. She stated that they are not accepting another set number for the BSN program for Fall. She stated it would basically be the offset of the students that turned down their spot originally and a few more fillers since they have extra instructors as well. This kind of eased my anxiety a bit, hopefully it calms some of yours as well!!

That's odd because I called the other day and they said they hoped to admit 60 more into the BSN! Hope we are not getting the run around....

I honestly don't care how many more they take or not, I've secured my space and that's all that matters to me at this point. Besides getting a straightforward answer out of that school is like pulling teeth. It think it's better to let whatever they're trying to do happen and not focus so much on something we have no control over.

Whoa! That's a huge discrepancy. Either way, there weren't enough qualified applicants initially, so no need for me or others to lose all hope applying this second round. There still must be enough spots to reopen admission!! Time will tell what is what...

I don't think WR offer housing...that's why I switched to Cochran. Do you know if Cochran a rural small town? Any shopping areas? Part-time job opportunities?

They don't but I'll be living off campus regardless. This will be my second degree and I have a dog:) You definitely should google maps Cochran...it's a very small town with very little to do. The campus is nice, though. Seems like there are only a few little stores and fast food restaurants. Went there for my HESI and it is very rural/small town if that. Not a bad thing but I need to live in a more populated area!
