Middle Georgia Applicants Fall 2014

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Okay, Lets get it started! Who has applied to Middle Georgia College for Fall 2014? If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and Hesi scores? My GPA is 3.8 and my Hesi score was 82 over all with an 80 in Reading and an 86 in math! Does anyone know what they base their decision on? More on GPA than Hesi? The wait is going to kill me! Is anyone already in the BSN program that can tell me how it is?

Does anyone know how long the ASN program is? For instance.. If you are starting in the Fall of 2014 in the ASN program when will you graduate?

I believe it's the same amount of time the BSN is, if you start this Fall you'll graduate May 2016!

From my understanding, the BSN and ASN programs both take two years to complete because you're only allowed to take certain classes every semester. The difference between the two is that every semester in the BSN program you have a full-time course load of nothing but nursing classes. First semester BSN takes 15 credit hours and first semester ASN takes 7 credit hours (I believe), keep in mind these hours do not include lab or clinical hours. The ASN program is geared toward students who are raising families, working full-time, or wanting to get into the workforce sooner (prereqs are completed quicker). The ASN course load is a part-time load, and if you plan on being full-time you would take additional hours like classes needed for the BSN program or other electives. The BSN and ASN programs that start Fall 2014 will graduate Spring 2016

Congrats to everyone that have been accepted so far:up:.

congratulations to all those who were accepted! I am a little confused, does anyone know why the application cycle was opened back up online? Now it says, "Deadline May 12, 2014." I applied for both BSN and ASN but have not received my letter (maybe it will be in the mail today). Did they open up more spots?

Yes they did reopen it because they have more faculty able to serve more students. If you have not received a letter yet I would call and ask whether all the acceptance letters for the first round have gone out. They stated that if you did not get in the first round you could reapply by May 12th to still get in by Fall. Hope that helps!

WOW! I had no idea. Ok so, they are re-opening the admission process for BSN and ASN? Do you happen to know how more spots?

Yes they reopened it sometime early April. I actually don't know, I honestly believe it's only for the ASN night/weekend program they're offering at the WR and Dublin campuses. Please don't quote me though, lol. I asked the advisor because someone that applied this month wanted to know, but I'm sure they may select more BSN students depending who didn't reserve their spot by May 2nd.

For all the ASN students, what campus have you selected? Cochran or Warner Robins?

Does anyone know where I could find the link to the cost for the ASN nursing program?

Look under the academic/schools and select nursing and it should give you an option to look at the cost of program

I talked to the nursing department .. The ASN students will be finished Fall 2015 because they will go to school during the summer, next summer.. Whereas the BSN dont!

I think that's the reason I applied for the BSN, there isn't much time diff between ASN and BSN in Ga. One extra semester and not having to worry about going back for another year to get my bachelors made more sense to me.
