Middle Georgia Applicants Fall 2014

U.S.A. Georgia

Okay, Lets get it started! Who has applied to Middle Georgia College for Fall 2014? If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and Hesi scores? My GPA is 3.8 and my Hesi score was 82 over all with an 80 in Reading and an 86 in math! Does anyone know what they base their decision on? More on GPA than Hesi? The wait is going to kill me! Is anyone already in the BSN program that can tell me how it is?

I JUST got my acceptance letter into the ASN program!!!!

For all the ASN students, what campus have you selected? Cochran or Warner Robins?

I chose Warner Robins. Do you know if that specific campus offers housing?

I talked to the nursing department .. The ASN students will be finished Fall 2015 because they will go to school during the summer, next summer.. Whereas the BSN dont!

Are you serious?!? The ASN program is year-round with no breaks?

Specializes in NICU.

Warner Robins does not have campus housing, but Cochran does.

Did anyone get the BSN rejection letter with the option to apply again for the second cohort? Anyone have anymore details on this? When I called, they said they were trying for 60 more (I'm wondering why they don't pull from their existing list of students that applied) and would and out letters by the end of June at the latest.

For the ASN they accepted 70. 35 at Warner Robins and 35 at Cochran. For the BSN they accepted 60 and will accept another round of 60 for a total of 120 :)

Are they accepting more for the ASN program or specifically 60 more for the BSN? Also how many more are they accepting for the ASN if any?

They are not accepting more ASN students. They have accepted a total of 70 to be split between the two campuses. For BSN, they already accepted 60 and will accept another 60-both for this fall 2014

Specializes in CVICU, CT Transplant, Transplant ICU, CV Step down.

I wonder how they're going to split 120 students between the campuses. I'm sure since this is the first time they're doing it there's going to be a bit of trial and error going on. I just hope this big class doesn't interfere with the effectiveness of the learning process with the classes.

I'm not certain but I clarified the information I was given and they did not say anything about splitting the BSN students. The Macon campus is for BSN nurses although it looks like you could have a class or two at Warner Robins.

I'm with you. 120 is a HUGE jump from the previous cohorts!

Anyone coming from Milledgeville

I chose warner robins too

I'm not sure how organized the program will be with 120 students:cautious:. I know my friend began her program Fall 2013, which was the first year that they selected 100+ students, and she said it was unorganized and confusing. They didn't have two selection periods either, some people received rejection letters, and then a couple of weeks after the school received more funding for the nursing program, some of the same people received acceptance letters in the mail. This was also the same semester that MGSC lost nursing professors to Mercer University and Wesleyan College, so their cohort had a lot of new professors. We have been waiting so long for this, so I hope they get it together before the semester start. Oh, and if it's true that the ASN program will start this summer, I wonder when they would get their supply and book list. They would also have to take the BLS course, have their immunizations updated, and have the background checks completed. It seems like a very short period of time to have these things completed, because the Summer semester starts May 28th. To the people who were selected for the ASN program what date did they give you for your orientation?
