mid semester blues

Published

Ugh...it's mid semester again, and, again I don't feel like studying. This always happens to me around the same time of the semester. I'm all gung-ho at the begining of the semester and even at the end, but right now, I want to sleep! I have a test on Tuesday and I just started studying, I'm sure it's enough time, it's only on 1 chapter, but I don't even want to listen to my lectures or read my note.

Oh well, back to studying!

I hate midsemester too. I don't understand why they give us a week off in 2nd term, but not also in 1st. We really need it!

I am so glad to hear others feel the way I do. I have 2 exams tom. one in dosage calc. (not hard) and one in parent/child (complications of preg. and deliv.) I think I studied maybe one hour total so far. I just feel so tired right now. My parents said this is to prepare us for the real world of nursing, when we have to think on little to no sleep, with high stress, etc. etc. etc. I understand all that but what I need right now is a nap!!!!!!

I know what you all are saying! I took last night and had a great night out...partied til the bar closed (listened to my favorite local band) and though I had a bit of a pounding headache this morning, I am glad for my little break. Hopefully This will be enough to carry me through...I don't see any more time in my schedule for a while!

i am feeling it too. i thought it was just because i was sick the entire week before i had a micro and anatomy exam within a few days of each other. but i'm still feeling unmotivated, even after i got that over with. i'm getting fed up with bad teachers and classmates who only talk to me when they want to know what the teacher said because they werent paying attention. grr.

Hey guys, I am also SO there with you! It's not so much my nursing classes, it's the other crap I have to do with them, like the co-requisites...my nutrition class and my life span and human development class. BORING! I have so much stuff to do for my nutrition class it is not even funny and I just can't motivate myself to do it! I'm just trying to keep my eyes on the prize....Thanksgiving cannot come soon enough! Take care everybody, we CAN get through this....I hope;)

oh my lord, just the title of this class makes me shudder! it screams BORING from a mile away! I would be dragging my feet in a class like that too! :roll

I'm going through the same thing. I was getting a good solid B in A&P, but after last test, I'm down to a C. We have two more exams and a quiz and a research paper due by the end of the semester, so I hope I can pull it back up. But i"ve found my motivation level has been slipping. And to think I have intermediate algebra and A&P 102 to take next semester lol

I hear you, I hear you. My inner monologe is screaming "Is it December yet?" To much to do, and I have a bad case of what my husband calls the "can't help it's".I jusy keep chanting....5 more weeks,5 more weeks. Hang in there you guys.

Count me in too....

In fact I just coudn't motivate myself to go to my Micro class tonight so I am staying home with my family and I'm cooking steaks and watching Finding Nemo.

I have an A in the class so far so I really don't care....lol

I'm just glad this is our last full month of school and then we are out for a month. All I want to do is get some good sleep and not have to study for awhile :)

Loosing it here. Workload keeps increasing while motivation is decreasing. Gotta make it out of this semester with decent grades... Not sure if thats going to happen yet or not...

About 3/4 through the semester now. Had my last micro lab yesterday and our final practical is in two weeks. Beginning to prepare our group presentation for Hep B which is our final exam. Nutrition just doubled up on reading and testing and there are only 4 more tests... all assignments have been turned in. I'm going mad preparing for yet another nursing entrance exam, the NET and another procalc. Guess the nursing people want to make sure they didn't make a mistake??? I'm finalizing my physical exam and titers/immunizations and have bought my uniforms. There's still more shopping to do. With Thanksgiving coming and travel plans, I'm feeling my hypertension and immune system being stressed out just more than a wee bit.

I do believe this thread should now be named... on our way to finals. It's the big wind up for the wind down.

i'm right there with all of you. i haven't posted in a long time, because this semester has kept me very busy. i do read the postings on a regular basis, just no time to post. this has been a make-it or break-it week for my class. monday we had our pharmacology final, which is intertwined grade-wise with peri-op, health promotion, and commonly occurring illnesses for one class grade. tuesday, we had our departmental math exam (had to make an 80 or retake it). today, we had our nutrition final (that intertwined with a&p for one grade). those that didn't pass the math exam had to retake it today also. we lost 2 due to the math and 2 due to their nutrition/a&p grade. we've now lost 7 total. we start mental health and health promotion next week (our instructors are out the rest of this week, but we must attend a seminar and we have guest speakers coming in also.) we have been given our assignments for mental health and health promotion, but i'm just not motivated to start them and try to get ahead while the instructors are away. plus i need to be working on my notes for the next skills exam.

i'm soooo ready for dec. 12 (finals day) to get here. i'm tired and i want to go to bed!! :zzzzz

hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving, and does great on their finals.
