Who is Taking Micro this summer? Here is a thread that we can all refer to for support. If you have any links to helpful websites please feel free to add them.
What text book is everyone using? At my school we use 'Microbiology-A Human Perspective'.

How is it? I've heard it's pretty tough. I'm taking Anatomy right now and just took y midterm and I have to say it wasn't bad at all.

Almost done here, I have my final on Wed. then a short lab final then its all over. Then I can get ready for A&P 2 in the fall.

I'm taking A&P 2 in the fall also. I'm in A&P 1 now. How was micro? I work at a medical school and all the medical students really complain about micro. So, it makes me a little apprehensive...

Whew..just had my second test. It was a doozy! We have lab right after class and 5 people dropped after taking that test! We are down to 7 people!

Hi All,
I'll be taking Microbiology during the summer too. Class starts on June 5th and will run Monday through Thursday until July 13th. I think we will be using Tortora (not sure though as I haven't started class yet). I am currently finishing up A & P 2 finals this week. I hope this summer class goes by fast and I hope I and all of you get an A in this class.

I'm quoting myself. I just got home from my last day of Microbiology and it is such a relief! I think I got an A in the class but I will have to wait a few days to find out. I'll post a follow up. :lol2:

I got an A+ in mirco. It was such a relief i had huge fears of university, to have my first class be a difficult one yet be able to get a great mark was wonderful

Ok so i decided today to take Micro in this last 5 weeks of the summer sessions. I was not going to because A&P 1 and 2 back to back fried my brain, but today i started Micro and it seems ok as of now. Are there any websites or anything that might be of help???

OK so I just finished my first week of Micro,4 more left. I have to say that so far I am enjoying Micro a heck of alot more than I did A&P I AND II. Its not that I disliked them, it is just that after back to back 5 week A&P courses you start to go crazy, well I did anyway. But Micro is not any easier but to me its alot more interesting and refreshing.Ohh yeah and the instructor is a total wacko job, but in a fun way. I have my first exam this Monday and our instructor says that this is one of the most difficult exams this 5 weeks, but I feel very confident I studied and read alot and I think I can get an A. Anyone else taking Micro now??? or have finished??? Did you enjoy it?

I finished micro a few weeks ago and it was tough and alot of studying but I loved the labs! The labs are a blast and the lecture is very very interesting once you get into the good stuff. Good luck in micro!

I just took my second of 3 micro exams and feel like I bombed at a 73. I know a C is nothing to sneeze at but after reading the posts on here and seeing how well everyone has done it is disheartening. Also I am feeling the pressure about getting into nursing school that even having a 3.8 or a 4.0 you might not get in and my average is not that good. No one in my family is pressuring me, I put it all on myself. We have about 12 students in my class (1 dropped after the last exam) and everyone but one person did better than me-the instructor posted the high and low and average score. For me the hardest part is the multiple choice. We have multiple choice, a few true/false and essays and I do fantastic on the essays but not the multiple choice. It even seems on the multiple choice when I can get it down to two choices out of four, I pick the wrong answer, you would think at least about half the time I would get it right. So one more test. We have a lab grade but we haven't received anything to indicate how we are doing. We will get feedback at our next and last lab. Well, I guess I have to try and keep studying and not let this affect my ability to study for the next exam in two weeks. This is the first and last time I take a fast paced class. I didn't really want to take a fast paced class but it was either this way or nothing. Hope all are doing better than me.
