Anyone from PA here? Anyway, I picked up my lab manual yesterday, it was all photocopied and made by the prof, and it costed 65 bucks! I almost fell over. 65 bucks for a stack of papers, that doesnt even come with a binder to put it in. :banghead: i hope when I am done I make a decent buck to pay all these student loans back....

I just started Micro last Tuesday and we are already deep into the material. We have covered basic intro to Micro (the history, modern uses of microorganisms, Linnaean taxonomy, etc.), differences between gram +/- cells, how to identify microorganisms (by phenotype and genotype), and structure of the prokaryotic cell. In lab we've grown a couple of cultures and yesterday prepared a slide w/ simple staining to examine bacteria under the microscope. My whole grade is based on exams, including two lab practicals, so I've been studying daily. My first test is in a week...crazy!!

Ok so I also started last tuesday and we have went over the history of micro, chem review, and done some cultures in the lab but thats it so far.

I'm in the same boat as you Bethany... tackling both micro and Physiology this semester.

Is anyone else using Microbiology w/ Diseases by Taxonomy Bauman 2nd Ed.? It was $439 for the texts for just these two classes!
