If you could study before A & P I, what would you have done to get ahead before it??
Cliffs notes for A and P. It's a big book and it kind of tells you what will be covered in each topic your professor will teach. I used it for review and the quizzes. It's not at all comprehensive but nice for quick reference while studying.

At Sac City college: NURSE 380 Preparing for a Nursing Career
What year is it offered? I think it would be good midway into school especially the "rigors of being a nursing student" preparation part. =)

thinking ahead
Well my cousin worked night shift. Her husband worked days and stayed at home with the kids at night. She was home by the time the kids got on the bus for school, she would sleep until they got home, have a family dinner and go to work. She did that at the hospital for a few years until she got on at a private practice and worked 9 to 5 =) It will be worth it I think in the long run. My family is used to having Christmas on Dec 28th or 29th when the nurses and the like can get off, a holiday is just a day we all get together at the same time in my family. ' Good luck.

Hi, I'm screwed
I took a little break from the nursing school rush and now I'm back with a changed attitude for the new year. It's so easy to get down about this stuff when you know there are schools with waiting lists a few years long and soooo much competition. This semester lowered me to a 3.0 but hopefully I can pull it back up. I guess at first I thought "I'll give nursing school a try" just to appease my curiosity but the further I got into it the more I wanted the respect and ability to make a difference in peoples lives that comes with Nursing. I have ALWAYS wanted to make a difference, you know leave the world a better place than when I came in. I guess I owe it to myself to stop the sabotaging. Thanks for your support.

Are there any schools without a WAITING LIST for RN?
No luck here... it's at least 2 semesters I hear. They don't wanna turn EVERYONE down but they only want the best I guess. What alot of people do is after they get their CNA, work that while they wait to get into nursing school.

Hi, I'm screwed
I worked really, really hard this semester and only pulled out a B in A and P I, a C in chem and an F in microbiology. I'm retaking microbiology, but this makes me wonder if nursing is for me and if I should I just go to grad school for counseling psych like I planned. Nursing was always something I wanted to do and I feel like I gave it my best shot. My plan is to continue the pre-reqs for nursing and apply to both programs in the fall. I'm a loser .
- Who's at UK?

Yeeeeeah this semester.. I have to retake it next semester My over all GPA is a 3.0 right now... I think (I could have figured it out wrong) I'm so boned, I'm never getting into nursing school.

PDA's used at BCTC?
I have an Iphone which apparently is the norm at UK. I've seen a lot of people with blackberrys though. The iphone has some nursing apps you can buy and download and if you have an online textbook you can access it from the web with the wireless on campus. I have this program on my phone that I put an abbreviation it tells me what the hell my A and P teacher is talking about lol. She looooooves abbreviations. This app is cool because if you just google them you get alot of non-medical related results and this kind of narrows it down. But I guess webmd could do the same thing. Anyway. Some people have books and flashcards on their iphones too.
