What do you think about taking Microbiology and Pathophysiology together in summer semester? right now, I am making a plan what I am going to do until I actually get into nursing school. It just makes me so motivated
Do you think it's going to be too much? Well, by then, my son will be 2 years old and I will not able to work. I've heard Microbiology is really hard and Pathophysiology is harder!! Thanks!

Way, way, WAY too much. You couldn't pay me enough to take them both during a summer.

Unless you have the desire and ability to spend every waking moment (yes, even in the shower) studying for your two classes, don't even consider taking them at the same time. But that's just my . Normally, I'm a 4.0 student BUT this summer I am taking Micro and Stats along with World Geography. There is so much new information and memorizing that has to be done...aaaggghhhhh! I just can't remember it all at the same time. I made a bad decision by taking too many memory intensive classes and it will affect my GPA which is really important for grad school.
If you are making a plan for the future and not a plan for this summer, I suggest rearranging things a little bit to avoid this situation. It's great that you are making a plan. It really does help.
Good luck.

I started these two classes (micro and patho) concurrently yesterday. So far so good. Just keep up with your readings, summer classes are usually more condensed so your mind is on the material almost daily, IMO I think it's going to be easy-peasy, but I
Good luck!

I'm taking patho right now concurrently with pharm AND a third class during a 10 week summer semester, because that's how my program is set up. We get these out of the way in semester 1 before clinicals start in the fall. Of course it's doable, almost everything is, but it's not a whole lot of fun. I used to think micro was the most time-consuming, hardest class I'd every taken...that was before pharm OR patho. I study upwards of 40 hours a week, work 15, and am making high As. I don't have any kids though - do you have help at home? Are you OK sending him to daycare when you need to study?

I would be very afraid that you would do one of two things with that kind of schedule. The first is that you would fail one or the other. The second is that you would pass both and not learn a dang thing from either one. That is actually a WORSE scenario than the first as you are going to desperately need all of the Patho knowledge you can get in MedSurg and OB. I know that there is this feeling of just want to hurry it up so I can get to the "show" (nursing school) but the truth is that if you dont have the foundation really strong when you start and I mean STRONG, then you will be horribly frustrated and confused and possibly failing to make the cut. Remember the Grade expectation goes up...and most of the 4.0's I know from pre req's are desperately grateful for an 80% © on a test.
Dont skimp on the basics just to get in sooner. Cause it wont help if your house falls on your ears in when the wind really starts to blow.
