I know what you mean about pop quizes. In my statistics class we had "pop" quizes until we caught on he was giving us quizes every friday.:chuckle Now we just ask him every week what the quiz is going to be on. He's just given up on there being any surprise in having the quiz.

Anybody with an idea where I can get questions and answers in Microbiology, AP, Pharmacology and Pathophysiology? I learn best when I practice the exam questions and review concept, most lectures are boring to me.

Good Golly! Just took test #2 in lecture. Ouch! I am sure I got (hopefully) a B, but could actually take the dive to a C. I am so depressed!

Still don't have my grade on my lab practicum. Boy, oh boy do I need a high score for it (to counteract my lecture exam)! Sometimes, though, I need this little reality check to make me study smarter.

On Weds, in lab, we start making cheese! Good thing it's one of my favorite veggies! :chuckle

I don't think I like introns, fertility factors, or Genomes. arggg!

I have lab exam #3 tomorrow on yeasts, molds, bacteriophages and enterobacteraciae(sp?) and psuedomonas. It's our largest lab exam out of the 6. I feel pretty OK except I keep getting my dimorphic fungi mixed up. Well its 2 am....ha ha guess I should go to bed.

OK back from lab. I scored a 59.5 out of a total 60 points. I missed 1/2 pt for not capitalizing Histoplasmosis. :)

Wow! Great job! How many points does lab account for? Our quizzes (8 of 'em) are 10pts and 2 practicums at 100pts each.

Seems like you are probably a few weeks ahead of us. Our classes started 1st week of sept.

Each of our lab tests is worth 100% but out of a different total amount of points. Like today's was a 60 pt test so a 60/60 was a 100%. The first one was 48 and the second one was 38. We have 6 total and a " creative project" that's worth 20 points for a total of 300 lab points. Lecture has 700 total points out of 4 tests and 6 quizzes.

Creative project??? Sounds like it needs to be worth more than 20 pts.

I am completely flabbergasted right now! I don't know how, but...I got a 94% on my lecture test!!! It just got posted, and I'm waiting for him to realize that he gave me the wrong grade, it was supposed to be my lab score, or something causing it to be posted wrong!

For now I will bask in the glory. I have lecture tomorrow night, so that will prove (to me) the grade.

I just realized that I started breathing again. Oxygen is goooood

Well...he didn't grade on a curve. I actually pulled a 94%. I am the luckiest person I guess. I got a 98% on my lab practicum! Woot woot!!

Now were doing viruses. Boy...those are interesting!!! Seriously!

I just took lecture quiz #4. I got a 9/10. I mixed up penicillin and polymycin in my head and oops!

Hey is everyone dead out there?

LOL! I have 4 weeks of class left....2 lecture tests left, 2 lecture quizzes, and 3 lab exams..and a "creative project" to do .in 4 weeks:)

At this point in lecture we are into the innate/adaptive immune systems- much more in depth than it was in A+P2. We have finished all bacteria, viruses, etc.

In lab we are moving on to serologic testing, parasitology, chemical disinfectants, etc. We did our unknowns ( 2 of them- they weren't graded) and I had Staph aureus for one and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ( sp?) as the other. I miss gram staining, etc.

We did nasal cultures and my nose started to bleed .

I still love lab though....lecture is still dull but I found it's a good 90 minute study session for me.

Dead? Not yet! But I think there are little germies after me! Funny thing...I was volunteering at my hospital today and the hospital had a cake set out for all to eat (already cut and put on plates). The other volunteers told me to go "get some cake". I asked where it was. It was on a table, in the lobby, right outside of the men's bathroom. :nono: :no: HELLO! I declined, telling them that I am in Microbiology and it is now against my principles! Ewwwww! And outside of a bathroom?? Don't they know what is in the air? :lol2: Now, when I scratch my dh's back, I literally run to the sink to "scrub" when I'm done. Can't imaging what would be camped out under my nails! Am I sick? I think so!!!

We are doing antigens, etc. in lecture and pH, temp, osmosis, making cheese, and UV light DNA damage in lab.

I have 3 more lect. quizzes, 2 tests, one cummulative final.

In lab we have 3 more quizzes and the last practicum.

So far...I have 212/220 in lecture

in lab I have 147.5/150 in lab

but since they count as one grade...let me figure this out...

whoo hoo!! Half way done too!

I have such a terrific instructor, that I owe most of that credit to him! He lays everything out so nicely, which makes it easier to comprehend.

Let's see. I just took our last lecture quiz today. Will have one test and the culmative final left. We're at immunology now. And I told my instructor that I wish I had her to explain it when I was taking A&PII last summer. I memorized enough to get my A, but would get so confused about the different types of leukocytes.

In lab, we have 3 more quizes, our unknowns and final exam. I'm not worried about the quizes or unknowns (which we will start the week after next.) It's the final exam. It will include a practicum and written part. We've been told that the written part will be just like our quizes, which were not bad at all. But for the practicum there will 15? stations set up where we 90 seconds at each. We will have to identify whatever is at that station, like looking at a couple of test tubes and say that they are TIA slants.

The one bummer is that I will have my lab final on a Wednesday and lecture final on Thursday.:uhoh21:
