Hi ya'll! Anybody taking Micro this coming fall semester and want to form a study group? I did this for A&P I and II and it helped tremendously! I'm taking it along with Chem 1151 (Survey of Chem). Thanks!

Yes I thought Biology was hard (tough prof.), but managed to pull out an A. I plan on lots of studying this semester

I am also 39 and I am taking micro and a&p 1. We start next monday. I know it will take a lot of studying!!! I am glad to have support through this site and glad to know that there are people my age that are also dealing with kids as well. Good Luck to both of us!!!

Class went pretty good last night! I'm definitely still nervous but it seems like the prof does all he can to help his students succeed. He gives us his notes in outline form and he said last semester the class average was a B. Doesn't seem so bad now! Thank you guys so much for the encouragement, I really really appreciate it!:heartbeat

I know I will be checking this site even more for the AP & Micro threads once classes start. There do seem to be quite a few of us 'older' students with kids, work, etc in the mix. I often wonder why I didn't do this in my 20's:banghead: ..... Good Luck to you!

Hello everyone my name is Jessica :) I am going to be taking the last pre-reqs this semester. Micro and communications. I took A & P I and II about 2 yrs ago (i got pregnant and took a break). I am very nervous because A & P was so difficult. I am using the book Microbiology with Diseases by Taxonomy by Robert Bauman. Is anyone else using the same book? Looking forward to get to know everyone!

Count me in!!! I am taking A&P I, Micro, Intro. Sociology and Stats this semester. I don't work though (on a student visa), although do have a nearly 2 yo plus 50% custody of partner's 4, 6 and 9 yo's!!

On the plus side I studied a BSc in genetics, and Masters in genetics and had to do micro as part of both so hoping it will be a recap - gram negative/positive and that type of thing! Hopefully I will be extra good at some stuff, but probably useless at other parts - so study group sounds fab!

It's amazing how many people here have children and are going back to school. I thought I would be the only one that would be considering taking nursing and have little ones. I think that it's a hard road ahead but will be worth it in the end. Good Luck to everyone.:)

I KNOW! I have 3 children & am only 25 yrs old. I still feel like one of the oldest ppl in my class! But hopefully it will be worth it in the end!

In my last on campus course it seemed like I was pretty much the only person withOUT kids. I'm plenty busy enough with a husband in school, 2 cats, and a full time job :)

Don't even worry about your age. When I took A&P we had at least 4 other students that were between 40-50. Just do what you have to do. You'll do great.

My classes start 8/18. I'm so glad I'll have some study buddies, makes me feel a whole lot less nervous about this course!

Katie, which campus are you taking micro...GPC??? I am taking it at the Decatur campus...got accepted into the Spring '09 nursing class, this is my class pre-req. A study group would be nice.
