Micro and A&P 2 in the same semester or not?

Published

Do you think it would be doable to take A&P 2 and Micro in the same semester if those are the only classes I took? I work 20 hours a week( evenings and weekends ) and I have 3 little boys that are 10,8, and 4 years old. They are all in full day school so I would have from 9am-3pm to study. I just want to make sure that I get good grades.

Yes. It can be doable. I'm going to do it next semester. My school has an excellent Science department with very good professors. I know many who have done it successfully.

Having gone through A&P....I would not want to mix it with another hard course like micro. But good luck....I'm sure it can be done though, just would make it harder.

I'm going to do it in the spring of '10. I will be working full time with 2 kids under 5 so it will be hard, I'm sure. But I don't really have another option. GL!

I took A&P 2 and micro in the same semester and it was not bad for me. A&P is one of my favorites so it was easy for me to do well in that class but I had to put a lot more time into Micro. But it can definitely be done especially with the time you have to study.

I would say that it's doable. I took both Micro and A&P II as summer sessions, both 5 weeks total. I did not take them together, but they were very condensed, one right after the other 4-5 hours each day Mon - Thurs. and I made As in both.

The thing you have to remember is that they both have labs, so if you can schedule it the right way you should be ok. I'm not saying it will be easy, but given that you will have a lot of weekends in between classes (something I did not have during the summer sessions) you will have time for the reading and stuyding outside of class. Just make sure that you have someone who can take the kids for a day during the weekend if you absolutely need it. I know I had to call on my mom to take my 5 year old a couple of weekends when I knew I had a huge test coming up and my husband was available to keep him occupied during the evenings when it was necessary to study.

Good luck to you, you can do it.

Good luck to you too!!

i think you can absoutely do it! i took apII and micro in a spring semester and i did just fine .. oh and by the way i worked 40+ hrs a week .. i dont know how your load will be with the children but i think it will be more than doable. to make it easier, maybe u can record ur lectures and listen to them in ur downtime. or rewrite your notes when u can. 9a-3p is way more than enough time to study especially if its everyday. just relax and dont burn urself out. youll be doing a lot more work when u start ur nursing classes ;)
