hi, i wanted to know are there any mdc students who know any information on the nursing program. i have all my requirements and all i need is chemistry. i am trying to apply to the accelerated program and would like to know if anyone here can give me a guide on my chances of getting in. any info will be greatly appreciated!:smiletea:

Yes, I'm currently in the program and when I applied last spring, I had just started taking Anatomy 2. And I took Microbiology + lab in the summer, while I was waiting to be accepted. A few of my classmates have taken or are taking microbiology while in the nursing program.

Thank you Ymarti. for give me hope!!!! :-)

Hi,

I have my Advanced Med-Surge Critical Thinking Exam coming up and was wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to the format of the exam - is it like the one in Med-Surge?

Thanks

I am in my 3rd semester right now at MDC and I was smack dab in the middle of Micro when I got my acceptance letter. I have friends in 3rd semester who are still finished pre-reqs....I DONT RECOMMENED THIS.... FINISH ALL PRE REQS FIRST!!!! But honey you have nothing to worry about.

Hello Fellow MDCers,

I got accepted for Fall 2009 Accelerated Program -- Yoo hoo ! ! !

Wanted to ask you guys about apartment hunting strategy. Since I am from Tampa and thinking of moving to Miami perhaps 1 or 2 days before classes--wondering how and where can I find good apartments at a good price ?

I perused sites such as Craigslist, Apartment.com, rent.com and forrent.com but its freaking overwhelming... too many listings and dont know where to start ! ! ! Due to my distance, cant do much legwork/inspection except during orientation, so was wondering how you guys managed this process ?

When I went to Business School back in UVA, it was so easy as there is a private apt complex basically walking distance to school so that is a nobrainer, even coming from an out-of-stater. However, in MDC, good places are not in walking distance, am I right ? My thinking is just dont want to be stuck in traffic going to or coming home from school/clinical sites.

Any suggestions on a good apartment--furnished is preferable but unfurnished is fine too (perhaps your apartment complex, etc.) and best location that is not too far from school/clinical sites ?

Thanks in advance for your tips and advice.

Hey...when did u get ur letter and what was your GPA if you don't mind me asking. I also applied for the accelerated program but I haven't heard anything yet.

i got accepted to the accelerated, i have a 4.0

Chamita, any advice for new Rn students?

I've been reading all your post and I like them

Well I have very limited time to study, because I have kids so in the afternoons I do not really study, and well...weekends are the only real time I have with them and my husband. I am not having a problem with Med surg, I know it is hard, but I like it. Where I have a problem is in pharm, but everyone is doing bad, and I do not believe that it is the students fault.

I do not know what is going on in the nursing department, but they can not get the whole pharm thing together. Hopefully they make up their mind, and fix the problems that have been occuring so far. Oh and second semester in clinicals is soooooo much better....long and more exhausting, but better.

Hi Jessica , I am also a mother and I will start rn generic on August 2009, any advice to new students?

thks

be glad to pass, forget being a 4.0 now

study hard, pharm gets easier when you use it and I LOVE IT

graduated 2006 from MDC transition program and work at memorial

its the best career change i could of made

best of luck to everyone....i did all my studying at barnes and noble because you can use the book there and put it back

headphones and the cafe, can't get better also a study group helps but only study with people that study like you do, someone will sit down and expect you to teach them everything right before a test..........
