Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

I believe they are saying that for people to stop calling and getting anxious. I have called three times in the past and everyone tells me a different thing; they all say they don't have idea but to keep checking my emails. One of them told me at the end of the month but this year it's just based on the GPA and nothing else I don't see a reason for them to take longer than previous Years. My guess is 99 % by Tuesday (1rst round of acceptance letters).

Que nervios Óscar. Good luck. You are in. Your are in. You are in. Say it to yourself and start jumping around. Fake it until you make. By the way if you have Netflix. Go and whatch The Secret. It will calm your nerves and make you stay positive. Truth me ! Do this and you will thanks me.

Yo se ) im already planning ; nothing to loose )- thank u ! good luck 2 U too )-

Just to be sure, the science gpa is the AS Pgm gpa right?

That is correct .

Positive spirit, loving it. I see schedules for accelerated and generic programs, does anyone have a transition/ bridge schedule?

Hello! I am new to this forum, I have been following this thread since September and so excited! It is such a relief to know that I am not the only one that is so anxious to know if I am accepted or not. *Keeping my fingers crossed*

Also do I need to complete CGS 1060 (Intro to Microcomputers) before applying to the Nursing program or can I complete it during the program?

I called this morning (October 14) and they told me within the next one to two weeks. Hopefully this is true.

I was able to apply & my advisor didn't mention it. I assume that I can complete it while I am in the program if I'm accepted. I'm new to Miami

Dade, so I'm unfamiliar with the system .

That's weird. According to Medical campus you need to have everything done before sept 1 in order to apply to the program. I know some students that only had 1 class missing and didn't let them apply because of that. It's even stated in their website. For that computer class you can take a test and that's it, But I don't know, I would double check with Medical Campus. Just to make sure.

I will have to go over to the medical campus to speak to them about that because I would hate for that to be the reason why I am not selected. Thanks guys!

The Microcomputer class is the only one that you can do after the fact. It is not listed under pre-requisites, but you will need it eventually:

"‡Applicants may complete this requirement with the successful completion of the Computer Competency Test. This course requirement must be completed by the 31st credit of enrollment."
