Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

I read reviews online about the pharm professor and he seems to be a good teacher. But my clinical professor Pit??? she has bad reviews; they said she has a heavy accent and is all over the place. I know how to tune these type of people out and teach myself the material.

I guess great minds think alike. I also went on rate my professor lol. My new clinical Professor Miller reviews are not to good. But all of her reviews are for theory. Hopefully shes a better clinical instructor.

Miller was originally our Pharmacology professor I guess they decided to switch her out. I guess that may have been a good decision since everyone says how hard pharmacology is

Who else is in the first bootcamp next week on 12/2 and 12/3? You should all check your MDC email asap. Just today, they sent an email with preparation instructions. We are required to buy a book and read a bunch of chapters beforehand. It will be hard to get this done in time, I had to order the book via my friend's amazon Prime account to even get it in time.... So anyway, if you haven't already, check your email.

Do you know from where we have to read the physiology chapters from?

Do you mean the Anatomy and Physiology tutorials? Those are to be done in an online platform they sent us a link for in the email (i haven't checked that webpage yet). And then from the Medical Terminology book we are required to buy, they want us to read a bunch of chapters too. Did you get the email? There is a lot of stuff in there...:-/

I did see the email but didn't go through every page. It's a lot but definitely doable from now till Tuesday

How much did u have to pay for the book? I might order it from Amazon as well .

My orientation is the 12th but I'd rather start doing those projects now. Thanks for the info...

Hi Oscar,

You can get a good used copy on amazon or valorebooks.com for as little as $12-$14. However, I had to buy a new one at $35 because I needed one that offered Amazon Prime, so that I could even get it in time for the boot camp. Good for you that you have a little more time to prepare :)
