Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

@Sachy, yes I'm working...I went thru the program and had 2 FT jobs. How? By having no other options! Still working 2 FT jobs

That's great that you were able to find jobs. Which program did you complete?

The uniforms are so expensive!! I just bought the clinical top, and went to the store in front of medical campus and bought 2 very cute tops, with a nice and flattering design. I know they are gonna stress that we buy from the bookstore but I saw many student with millions shades of hunter green so they are not that strict

Is hunter green for accelerated program also? Wow you are all so ahead of the game buying scrubs and books. How do you all know what books to get?

The books not yet, for those I'm going to wait till orientation. But yes, I just want to check off everything from the list !!

That's great since you had the experience already from LPN. I wonder how difficult it is to find a job as a new grad. I plan to do the accelerated program and then the BSN program. It seems like it would be difficult to find a job with the Associates in Nursing with no experience :/

It's difficult, I have jobs because I just stayed with same company

MaryOr, did you do the full or part time for the transition. And are you selling any books.
