Good morning/night to all who are reading this,
I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).
Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?
Hey so just to recap about the background check:
You go do your fingerprints at the fingerprints place. Then they send them to Miami-Dade. Then you get an email or call letting you know that they are ready for pick up at the school. then you pick them up at the school and upload them to complio. is that how it works??? Appointment is on Monday, want to be prepared.
Also, is the Student Health record done all in one day? The physical, the immunizations, the the flu shot, the drug test - is that all done in one day or do you have to go a few times to get it all done?

I went to the fingerprints place yesterday, they sent the info to the school, and today I got an email saying they were ready for pick up. I went to the school and picked up the paperwork. I scanned it and submitted it to complio.
Today I went to miami dade to do the titers and all that. I made an appt so I walked right in. it was 345, which honestly isn't so bad if you don't have insurance.
I had blood drawn for the titers, they gave e the flu shot, and I also did the drug screen. they give the results of the drug screen right away, as well as the document for the flu shot. I didn't do the physical today or the tb test. I have to go back on tuesday (because of my schedule) because you have to get it read after 48 hours. so next week ill be going on tuesday to get it done, then I have to come back on thursday so they can read it. I will also be doing the physical thursday. then the week after that on tuesday I have to go again for the second tb test and then back again on thursday so they can read it.
hope that helped with some of your questions.

Don't go by people saying that full time people don't work.. I person that work full time while doing the program and full time is harder because all the material together. I personally don't work but I have kids so that a 24h rigth there and is really hard with all the test and material to study. Fulltime students have a test literally every week.
Anyone know if the scrubs have to be from the bookstore or if I can order from a different brand but in the colors they require? I really like these: butter soft pants Butter Soft Women's Drawstring Scrub Pants & Nursing Scrubs at Uniform Advantage
Oh and like those cute name tag clips like these!

Have you checked your spam? Best wishes to you, I know the feeling, when it was just GPA based I kept getting rejected. I knew the HESI would help, however they told me in order to offset my 3.4, I would need atleast an 80 on the HESI to be safe and I got an 85.
