Hi all,
I've just handed in my application to MDC for Spring '13.
Right now I'm overall score is 82 but I'm planning on retaking the TEAS in August to improve that.
If anyone has a book list from previous students, please send. I'd love to get cracking.
Wishing you all best of luck. Josh
I dont think there is anything that you need to do. I was thinking the same thing and then yesterday I received an email from MDC saying....
Confirmed On: 10/31/2012
You have successfully completed your background check. It is your responsibility to print this confirmation and present it to your instructor upon request. You may pick up your results at the Student & Administrative Services Dean's Office, room 1355. Please do not reply to this email. If you have any questions, please contact your program advisor.
How long after you did your fingerprints did you get that email? I did mine on 10/24 which was a week ago yesterday and haven't received anything...
Hi Guys and Gals.. I'm Back - and btw- the Mediterranean trip was AMAZING.
So now that I can type on a regular keyboard and not a phone keyboard-
I was accepted to Gen Full time as well as Accelerated... I accepted Gen Full time so there was a slot opened for the accelerated.
I got back in town Monday so having to do all this stuff this week- (Plus I got pneumonia on my trip- not fun). Background check was done yesterday, CPR done today, titters done Tues/Monday of next week. Drug test tomorrow.
Then I should be done!!!
Hopefully I can get the results back from all this stuff by next Friday the new deadline (I"m told they will probably extend it again as they always do, but I'm still hoping to be done with this crap).
I want to personally congratulate everyone on their accomplishments so far- We have such a long way to go.
If I can help anyone out, just message me. If I can get all this stuff done in 5 days while having pneumonia/recovering from such- we can do anything :)
Congrats again and good luck to the rest who are still waiting to hear from slow poke MDC.

FYI regarding the background check, I brought a copy of it to the Nursing Department yesterday and the lady over there did not accept it; she told I needed to forward the confirmation email to Ona Walker to [email protected] couple of minutes later she replied back asking me which program option will I be attending, I am going back tomorrow to bring a copy of the CPR and check what is going on, so double check with them because they tell one thing now and then later something totally different.
I went to advisement today and this is what I was told:
For anyone that was waiting for the part-time generic program, from the first round 20 seats out of 40 were given up/not accepted and sent to second round people this past Tuesday but not many have responded as of today at 3pm. I was advised that the second round acceptance due dates is this coming Friday (can anyone who received second round emails confirmed this). They won't tell you your place in the ranking but I was told I was really close (not by one or two people but enough that I still have a chance). If this Friday really is the deadline then the round three should go out next Tuesday-ish.
Unfortunately if I don't get in by third round, my only option is to figure out how to get higher than a 82 on the TEAS. I have all B's for my Sciences classes so I can't retake them to improve my GPA : /

Hi! I was accepted to the accelerated program for Spring '13 with the second round! I'm so excited! My sciences GPA is 3.47 and my TEAS was 73.7. So funny the email came Tuesday afternoon but I just checked it this morning. Now I'm having a great day :-) Good luck to those still waiting for their emails! Don't give up hope!
