Hi all,
I've just handed in my application to MDC for Spring '13.
Right now I'm overall score is 82 but I'm planning on retaking the TEAS in August to improve that.
If anyone has a book list from previous students, please send. I'd love to get cracking.
Wishing you all best of luck. Josh
Hello fellow nurses... so I've been following along for a little while now but have been super busy to post anything.
I got 2 acceptance emails on October 18, one for generic full-time and one for generic part-time. I will be going tomorrow to accept my full-time seat and decline the part-time, so if you applied to part-time one more seat will be opening up!
My science gpa was 3.4 and my TEAS score was 83. Good luck to all! :)
Hi geisy1840 I scored low too I got a 73 on my teas and have a 3.0 in my sciences. Someone got in last year with those scores so there's hope just not as much hope as the rest. I also applied to everything except bridge, accelerated or part time may be my only shot since so many are accepting homestead, I live 10 min from there it would be so perfect. What did you apply for?
I'm a bit confused, I read on one of the blogs that if you go to degree audit and select the AS health science program you applied for it calculates your program GPA. When I select generic full time it says 3.5, but my p/t and accelerated says 3.2. Which do they look at? Maybe I'll have to recalculate it myself.
Hi Everyone! Wondering if there is a facebook page we can create for each of theprograms. I did this at another school/program and it was sooooo helpful. Allthe students in the program would keep in contact and help one another out. Also, I went to the medical campus yesterday and accepted the AcceleratedNursing Program. I declined FT at Homestead and PT at Medical. I also found outmy PPD's had to be redone but they'll take a chest x-ray instead and need a flushot/physical. Also went to the bookstore and they gave me a list of thebooks/materials I need. One of the advisors said the accelerated program oftenruns from 8am to 6pm/7pm. GEEZ!!!-- Really!?!?! Also working out the financialaid stuff, will know in about 6 weeks.
@Cindyheart21, @geisy1840 Hi girls I wish you the best of luck!
I just wanted to let you know we seem to be in similar places My science GPA is 3.05 and my TEAS was a 76.7% so my overall score should be if I calculated it right
Teas = 76.7 * .6 = 46.02
AS MY INST CUM PRO = 3.05 * 10 = 30.5
Overall score 46.02 + 30.5 = 76.52
I applied to part-time, full-time and accelerated
Hopefully we will hear soon (fingers crossed)
if anyone hears anything in the second round or knows anyone that gets in with a overall score of 76.5 or lower please post so I may have a little ray of hope!
Also dose anyone know in past semester what were the range of acceptance scores?
GOODLUCK to everyone waiting
Congratulations to everyone that got in!
@elizabegon1 thanks for the info!! Its great to know they have the list at the bookstore :)
FYI for those going to the CPR class tomorrow 10/27 @ Kendall... I read in last year's thread that professor ****** (which is the one for tomorrow's class) required that you have the book (BLS). The bookstore at Kendall does NOT open on saturdays and it closes today at 2pm.... i just got my book, even thought the $18 is annoying.... I much rather be safe than sorry... just sayin'.
Also, beware that they changed the student health record from one day to the next. I printed it out when I got the acceptance email and it said "5 panel drug test"... went to the doctor, wasted time and money... cuz like someone said up there, its a "10 panel drug" test... they updated the health record a few days ago.
To those of you waiting... Im sure emails will go out soon. A bunch of people are declining seats and acceptances/declines and payments are due today... so you will find out soon. GOOD LUCK to everyone!!
