  1. Wow! Sorry to hear that. Try excelsior college.
  2. Do they offer the classes online or will they accept them from another college that offers the schedule you need?
  3. I agree with the comments above but if getting in is as competitive where you are as it is here, get in where ever you can. In my opinion, 1 year is better than 2 but 2 is better than 0. Good luck to you. ?
  4. I haven't been able to find others doing the online option... Yet. Also, there doesn't seem to be much info out there on it. I guess I will meet others during orientation on November 29th. ☺
  5. Hi all,I've been an LPN for 3 years working home health part time and doing prerequisite classes for my transition to RN. I just got accepted into a Bridge program and I start in January. I'm very excited! My question is: What skills do you recommend I brush up on for clinicals? I don't know if clinicals will be in a hospital or nursing home setting. If its in a nursing home, I feel pretty confident with my skills but if it is in a hospital setting that would be a new experience for me. All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. ?
  6. Hi. You don't mention where you are located but I can identify with you as here in Miami, most hospitals are phasing out LPNs and hiring Patient care techs (CNAs). I,ve been an LPN for 3 years and can get work with either nursing homes or home health agencies. They hire CNAs too. Maybe if you haven't already, you can try there. The advantage I find with home health is that it is very flexible and you can pretty much set your own hours which is convenient during nursing school. Good luck & I wish you the best. ?
  7. Ab_AOAre you going to be doing the face to face or the online?
  8. I had the 5 panel done at my Dr.s office then had to go back for the 10 panel. I was told today that the lab sends the sample to Atlanta for the 10 panel & the results won't be back till next Thursday. I have everything else. Has anyone had the 10 panel done at the wellness center? How long does it take to get the results back?
  9. To those wondering about registering for classes, the system won't let us register until we are fully accepted to the programs we have selected so, I"m guessing that won't be until after or during orientation. Anyone know how they go about the registration process?
  10. College network works through excelsior college. They require pre reqs but if you can pass the tests excelsior will award you the credits.
  11. Contact the board of nursing for your state. The board makes the rules.
  12. The drug test is a 10 panel & has to be turned in in a sealed envelope from the lab.
  13. Good luck to you both. I hope you get accepted. Has anyone accepted the FT online?
  14. My LPN program was very difficult and a lot of people didn't make it all the way through. I will be starting the bridge program in January and I'm hoping it want be as intense as the LPN was...but I'll have to get back to you on that. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses...things we're good at and things we're not. Use your strengths and work to improve your weaknesses. But I've found that it really is all about determination.
