LPN to RN alternatives?
Wow! Sorry to hear that. Try excelsior college.

Just need to vent..
Do they offer the classes online or will they accept them from another college that offers the schedule you need?

LVN - RN Bridge or generic?
I agree with the comments above but if getting in is as competitive where you are as it is here, get in where ever you can. In my opinion, 1 year is better than 2 but 2 is better than 0. Good luck to you. ?

MDC LPN -> RN Transiton Spring 2013
I haven't been able to find others doing the online option... Yet. Also, there doesn't seem to be much info out there on it. I guess I will meet others during orientation on November 29th. ☺

Brushing up for clinicals
Hi all,I've been an LPN for 3 years working home health part time and doing prerequisite classes for my transition to RN. I just got accepted into a Bridge program and I start in January. I'm very excited! My question is: What skills do you recommend I brush up on for clinicals? I don't know if clinicals will be in a hospital or nursing home setting. If its in a nursing home, I feel pretty confident with my skills but if it is in a hospital setting that would be a new experience for me. All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. ?

CNA vs A&P Teaching Assistant
Hi. You don't mention where you are located but I can identify with you as here in Miami, most hospitals are phasing out LPNs and hiring Patient care techs (CNAs). I,ve been an LPN for 3 years and can get work with either nursing homes or home health agencies. They hire CNAs too. Maybe if you haven't already, you can try there. The advantage I find with home health is that it is very flexible and you can pretty much set your own hours which is convenient during nursing school. Good luck & I wish you the best. ?

Miami Dade College (MDC) Spring 2013 Gen. FT/PT& Accelerated Nursing program
I had the 5 panel done at my Dr.s office then had to go back for the 10 panel. I was told today that the lab sends the sample to Atlanta for the 10 panel & the results won't be back till next Thursday. I have everything else. Has anyone had the 10 panel done at the wellness center? How long does it take to get the results back?

Miami Dade College (MDC) Spring 2013 Gen. FT/PT& Accelerated Nursing program
To those wondering about registering for classes, the system won't let us register until we are fully accepted to the programs we have selected so, I"m guessing that won't be until after or during orientation. Anyone know how they go about the registration process?

Contact the board of nursing for your state. The board makes the rules.

is the lpn program less hard/stressful than the ADN program?
My LPN program was very difficult and a lot of people didn't make it all the way through. I will be starting the bridge program in January and I'm hoping it want be as intense as the LPN was...but I'll have to get back to you on that. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses...things we're good at and things we're not. Use your strengths and work to improve your weaknesses. But I've found that it really is all about determination.

Any of you LPNs bridging to RN in your very late 40s

MDC LPN -> RN Transiton Spring 2013
Hi, I'm new to all nurses. I applied to MDC transition to RN beginning Spring 2013. The advisor told me that I could apply for the full time (1 year) online or the part time (2 year) face to face. I'm considering the full time option but I wanted to get some info on how demanding the online classes are. I work full time M-F from 7 to 3. Is anyone here currently taking this option? Has anyone else also applied?
