  1. Really loved reading this thread. Curious to know how your new job is going??? Can we get an update?
  2. Please help me choose wisely for my Practicum. We get to choose our top three units for possible placement. I *think* Id really love to work in the ER someday but not sure if that unit is good for my practicum plus, the competition will be very high for that unit. Where is the best unit for me to have a really really good learning experience? Also, how is LTAC for a possible practicum spot? I just want to learn as much as possible and really sharpen my skills during this time. Please help!
  3. Thank you for responding. Where would I go to find various new hire programs? I've checked Google but unfortunately did not find many opportunities that route. Perhaps I should be calling the program something else besides "new graduate nursing program"?
  4. Loved your statement about "part of your job will be to make sure the residents don't kill anybody". That sounds frightening, especially for a new grad!
  5. Thank you, all, for taking time to answer my question. Your responses were awesome and gave me many things to consider. Really appreciate your expertise with this topic! :)
  6. Are there new grad residency programs for nurses who graduate with an Associate's degree? If no, what about an ADN plus a non-nursing Bachelor's degree? What hospitals offer this type of program?
  7. Hello everyone. My graduation date, ADN-RN, is currently set for July 2015. I love, love, love to learn so working in a teaching hospital has always sparked my interest. Do any of you have experience working in a teaching hospital? What are the Pro's and Con's vs working in a standard hospital? Thanks so much!
  8. Congratulations to everyone who got into the program. I was also chosen as an alternate. Better than getting denied but yes the alternate title makes moving forward a bit tricky. Many schools require Pathophysiology and Organic Chemistry both of which I still need to take. Oh well, the journey continues...
  9. Hopefully they send the emails by tomorrow. :)
  10. I'm surprised to see only three of us who applied to the CHOICE program are active on this forum. One more week and we should know something. :)
  11. Congrats to both of you. When were your interviews? Also, did those who got accepted receive an email or a physical letter?
  12. Also, I responded to your private message with details of my interview. Please let me know if you did not get that pm.
  13. Sounds like it went well. My friend applied to the Accelerated program. Her interview lasted 10 minutes. She starts in the summer. :)
  14. Well, how did everyone do? Wonder if we hung out together on interview day. I went on the 10 a.m. tour...
