I just wanted to start a thread for people interested in the MDC nursing program for fall 2012. I think if you shared your scores (TEAS V & GPA) and what track your applying to (full-time or part-time), it will give everyone an idea of where they stand.
I will start:
I have a 3.7 GPA and an 81% on the TEAS and looking to apply for the part-time program. I have the option of taking the TEAS 2 more times which I will be doing :)
It is located on 4100 NW 9 St. I called to make an appt an they said the whole MDC package is $170. It includes physical, drug panel, titers and 2 tb tests. I guess the price could change depending on how many vaccines you need in case you need any at all.
I dont mean to scare you but we both have almost the same scores and I received my letter for both full time and part time today. Maybe there is some kind of mistake. I would recommend you wait tomorrow and if you dont get it you go there friday to see whats wrong.
PS We have a 4.0; you got an 83 on the teas and I got an 84
From what a higher level person told me in advisement, a 4.0 in sciences and a TEAS of 80+ (i.e., a competitive score of ~75 or better) is pretty much "guaranteed" entry into the ASN program. In reality, the cutoff is below that score.
A confounding factor is that many people have applied to and been accepted into two or three tracks, and they at most accept admission to one. Many more acceptance notices will go out in the coming weeks.
I originally applied to the accelerated and generic full-time programs at Wolfson, but the advisor encouraged me to apply to the part-time as well. Unless a great job comes out of nowhere, I'm not likely to do part-time; I'm leaning strongly toward accelerated.
I'm holding my breathe! Praying... crossing my fingers... knocking on wood... I know the Lord has a plan for me ,but , Please give me a sign... I believe there are some notices that come later than sooner. This cannot be a done deal not just yet. The week is not over and the fat lady has not song her last tune.
