Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

I got accepted to accelerated program and I will be taking summer classes for stat and nutrition.

But we have mandatory two meeting and orientation. I am going to miss my classes which is huge portion of classes. I want A no matter what! Do you guys think I need to just drop the classes this time and take that later on? Give me advice please!!

Talk to your professors, they understand when it comes to orientation from medical campus since its such a big deal. Just show them the acceptance letter and the orientation dates.

You said you have have a 4.0 science. What is your overall? There are people coming out of high school with a way higher gpa. My daughter has a 5.53 in history. There's people graduating high school w 7.0 guys the reality is this we are hoping for the best. Must have a backup plan. I hope you all didn't "Just" apply for RN. There are lots options to apply for bridge programs. We all need options....... if RN is all you want then begin in a field that you can bridge over . Don't Waste valuable time. While you are in the program you can continue to apply for RN ft/pt. If you never make it, when you finish your program you know provided yourself with an option to apply for RN FT/PT/Bridge. If that doesn't work apply for BSN and keep going!!!! Wish you luck. I applied but I also got accepted into Repiratory care so that I can bridge when done

Those overinflated GPAs from high-school do not count for admission. What counts its your science GPA and the overall GPA of your college classes. The maximum GPA for college its 4.0

They said it should take about 3 to 4 days I say wait until Monday and then if it doesn't come in your mdc email call on Tuesday

Has anyone received or know people who have received rejection letters?

I just talked to a friend whose boyfriend supposedly got one.

This process is taking forever.

Really? Already? I feel like either not enough people have been accepted or not enough users have posted that they've been accepted. I just don't seem to see all the acceptance posts that I've seen in the forums for the previous years.

That's just what I heard. I'm not sure if that's true.

i honestly don't think they have sent out more. I think they will this week.

the past 2 years the second round was sent around the 24th.

I wonder how many students per program is accepted & how many in total combined.

As of today no rejection ! They are sent around July. Do you know if after Monday is the second or third batch of email ?

I would think its the third since they've sent out one set of emails for each of the two previous weeks.

Has anyone received anything today from MDC. I am obsessively refreshing my browser and checking my e-mail every chance I get.

This is so stressful. :cry:
