Hey guys,
I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.
So far this is what I know:
I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).
I called. The lady looked into my application cause I told her I have a science 4.0 gpa and still I haven't heard. She said they had 1,000 applicants, and only taking in 130 for generic. They'll send out more Monday or after Monday if there are seats left over. That was it.
I've called and every time they don't want to check application. Not even status if is there or not. You got lucky.
And btw I'm not trying to sound like a b@@@@ but I'm 35. Finished my AA Pre - Nursing last Aug. Took micro lab aug-dec. In December I applied for RN. I went everywhere Fortis, Keiser, Broward, Barry, Nova. Applied for RN at all. Took. Hesi & Teas. Been on a mission haven't given up. I took all my BSN prereqs as electives for my AA. Has been hard. Famiky. Husband Kids. But options are very important and I'm ther . I made a choice to do whatever I need to do in order to make it. So I went off track to apply for a program to bridge. And I'm so excited. Once I'm done I can apply at all of these colleges again and then apply for bridge. I recently decided to shadow at Ryder trauma unit just to make sure. This is where I want to be. I loved it. Loved it so much. See you in the field 1 day. Lol.
I have a BFA in graphic design and am 33 and have a three year old daughter. I worked hard for straights As in all my sciences. My cum is not as good cause they count all the classes I've done since I started in 2000. But hey, if not this time I'll try again for spring. That'll be60% of the hesi exam and 40% of science GPA. Everyone gives it all they can. Problem is a super large applicant pool...
I hear you. I've been juggling school, work, & most importantly-family. It definitely is not an easy road. It's a sacrifice. But I think that's what will make us more of an amazing
Nurse coz we know we will not give up! Having earned my LPN license is an amazing thing ever& I know I will relive that excitement again as a RN & who knows, BSN, MSN, ARNP. The sky's a limit!!

I'm going today for my second ppd and on Monday for it to be read. On Monday I will receive my titers, physical, and ppd paperwork to scan into complio. I am also waiting for the background check to be approved in complio, it was already cleared by the school but it is not approved in complio yet and I submitted it on the 16th of this month. well It's basically just me waiting on every thing to be approved in complio after I get my results on Monday and upload it. I hope that I can be compliant in complio soon because my orientation is on July 8th and 9th. I herd that they register you for classes that day if you are compliant...
I hope every thing is going well for all the other people who got accepted, and for everyone who has not been accepted yet, there is still hope people are still denying their seats... Just hold strong.
You said you have have a 4.0 science. What is your overall? There are people coming out of high school with a way higher gpa. My daughter has a 5.53 in history. There's people graduating high school w 7.0 guys the reality is this we are hoping for the best. Must have a backup plan. I hope you all didn't "Just" apply for RN. There are lots options to apply for bridge programs. We all need options....... if RN is all you want then begin in a field that you can bridge over . Don't Waste valuable time. While you are in the program you can continue to apply for RN ft/pt. If you never make it, when you finish your program you know provided yourself with an option to apply for RN FT/PT/Bridge. If that doesn't work apply for BSN and keep going!!!! Wish you luck. I applied but I also got accepted into Repiratory care so that I can bridge when done
Honestly, no one cares about your high school GPA here. It has absolutely nothing to do with your college GPA. Your GPA starts over when you start college.... So you can leave highschool with whatever GPA you want! It doesnt mean anything to Miami Dade Nursing Program!!! hahaha.
You should not be on this fourm telling people that there are people getting into the program because they have 5.whatevers! the highest GPA you can have in your college career or as far as Miami Dade College is concerned is 4.0.
For those of you who are still waiting hang in there.. one never knows! stay positive! I was rejected last year on another program and it all worked out for the better!
Congrats to all of you who got in!! I got accepted into the accelerated program for fall. I started all the requirements on complio but have a question how do i know if they received my background check and fingerprints? I payed and did all the steps but now have no idea what to upload to complio.
