I just sent in my application for MGH Direct-Entry Nursing 2014 and I was hoping to get in touch with other applicants. I applied for the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP. The wait is going to kill me! I'm wondering about other people's backgrounds (GPA, GRE scores, experience, etc.) and if anyone has an idea of who MGH accepts. Look forward to hearing from you!
I don't think this was for direct entry MSN. The Dean of Academic Affairs at MGH told me that they are making decisions this week.
Ok I looked through that person's posts. They applied to the Accelerated BSN program, not the direct entry MSN program. You guys can now relax :)
Sanamax – The schedule during the first semester is pretty busy! You’ll have classes on Monday (9am-4pm), Tuesday (Clinical – 7am-1pm), Wenesday (9am-12pm), Thursday (off), Friday (Clinical 7am-3pm). In addition, you will also have an online Pathophysiology course (3 credits worth). Because the class is 100+ students, they split the class in half for all the courses and class times can vary based on which section you are in.
Mecks625 – You can start working as an RN the spring or summer of your second year, depending on when you take your NCLEX. After talking with other students, it doesn’t sound like anyone (that I’ve spoke with) had trouble finding a job. The institute does a great job at emailing us too if they know of positions available for private home care. The fact that the BSN isn’t offered until the end of the program has Not affected those students in getting a job.
Pmg1990 – Sorry, I don’t know the statistics of the peds program. I’m sure if you contact Veronica K. (coordinator for the specialty), she’ll have the numbers for you!
Good luck to everyone applying!
Some Northeastern interviews have started. Don't be discouraged just yet though! Since we don't know their exact method for selection and it also may depend on your specialty there's still plenty of time for you to receive an interview opportunity.
I do believe MGH is aiming for this week or early next to release decisions. Good luck to each of you.
I hope the snow storms on the East Coast don't slow them down too much. Many univerisities were closed on Wednesday, February 5. Another big snowfall predicted for Monday, February 10. The Admissions Committee can't release decisions if they are stuck at home! Any body have news from Boston College?

Just throwing this out there.... A person on the Columbia thread said they were already accepted to MGH direct-entry and, in fact, had a $500 deposit due by midnight tonight (which implies they've known they were accepted to MGH for several weeks now). I've read this same story on several other threads... so I think it's safe to say round 1 of MGH interviews/acceptances has already passed. Wishing everyone luck on subsequent rounds, wait lists, etc. Stay positive!
