Merritt College Fall 2014 Applicants

Hello!

Haven't seen a thread yet about Merritt Fall 2014, so I figured I'd start one. Has anyone heard whether they've passed Phases 1&2 of the app process yet?

And for the meantime, if you're like me and didn't know what your chancellor's score was, this site has an excel doc that will calculate it for you :) http://nursing.yccd.edu/chancellors-formula.aspx

just now? So they did not send out emails all at once?

Are they waiting for people's replies before emailing the next candidates on the list?

Seems a bit disorganized... at this point, anyone who got accepted at other schools already accepted their offers...

Yep about two hours ago. I'm not going to waste $28 sending teas scores since I'm already enrolled at another school, so I'll let them know that, I guess.

I've received an email today telling me to send in my teas score by July 2. I have a question, does anyone know how well instructors teach at Merritt? I'm asking because I need to choose between Merritt and Chabot's program. I heard Merritt has a great program.

Did somebody mention Chabot??? That nursing school is full of drama! They only have a couple of decent professors. The majority of them are self absorbed. They pick and choose the people they want to graduate. The lady that runs the lab is nice if she likes you and if she doesn't you'll leave that lab in tears!!! Good luck, I hope I didn't scare you, but you'll see what I'm talking about the first couple of months there. I hope you have a better experience than I did.

Have you graduated yet? Did you earn your ADN at Chabot?

On June 9, I received the Merritt College email asking that I submit my TEAS scores or be prepared to take the exam on June 16. I ordered them from ATI and sent them in.

I emailed the ADN program today asking for an update on the Phase 4/5 status and got this bounce back reply . . .

All candidates that have qualified to continue the application process have been notified.

All other candidates will be notified by June 30, 2014.

The lottery will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014.

Thank you for your patience as we needed this additional time to give each candidate a thorough and complete evaluation. We apologize for any inconvenience, but decisions are made in all fairness to each applicant.

Again, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE DURING THIS PROCESS.

I haven't heard many great things amount Merritt College; you can go ahead and type in Merritt College in the search bar on All Nurses and read the reviews for yourself. I know all students are different so just keep that in mind.

Just wondered if anyone was notified today as it states, June 30th, or are we waiting for July 3rd? How long after can the orientation be since it's already July and they have requirements that are to be met by Aug?

Hi Cristina, just curious if you have heard of any other updates? The lottery is July 3rd, so the orientation can't be the 7th? Thank you for any info.
