Creating this to give an insight into the process of applying to Mercy Hospital College of Nursing. I've attended the information session. I took the NLN entrance exam and got a 78% overall score. (73% is passing) I'm waiting to see whats the next step once the administrator sends the needed information. Let's see whats next.

With pharmacology math, you have three test and about 30 questions to finish in an hour. The good thing about that professor is that he provide tutoring session before class. For Medsurg the professor is great. He’s very knowledgeable and you’ll learn in the class . He provides study guide and it really helps. For pharmacology it’s a bit of a struggle as expected but absolutely doable . She provides study guides which is great also. Sometimes she does in class activities that relay to the topic to also help with understanding the material. Best of luck guys, you’ll do fine :).....
Congrats. What's the passing percentage?
I’m happy I found this thread. For those of you that have applied and got accepted what r THE ge courses that you took to apply? I have chemistry but I’m readings on here they won’t accept that general chemistry it has to be another version is this true? I’m hoping to start inn in either may or august 2020 once im done with micro and sociology

The NLN is the entrance exam for Mercy LPN to RN program. It just tests your knowledge about nursing related to LPN experience. Must score a 73% or higher (unless they changed it) to be accepted into the program. Hope this helps.

Im not sure about that. If it's chemistry and its equivalent to what they consider general chemistry then it should be fine but CALL or SEND them the info so they can verify if that chemistry is acceptable.

Your welcome! Yes, I do attend MERCY LPN to RN program. Im going into the 2nd semester in January. I like it of course with many nursing programs it is hard but if you study and work hard it not that bad. The instructors for 1st semester were very helpful and were excited about teaching. They have lots of rules like most nursing schools but as long as you follow them there should be no problem. I would recommend the program. First semester is hard and unfortunately some of our classmates failed medsurg but if you just keep practicing questions it's very doable.

I passed first semester there was 4 classes and I got 2 B+ and 2 A-. For pharm math the passing score is 90% and there is 3 exams and 1 hour time for each exam. I would recommend getting that book to do practice questions if your not that comfortable with math. For medsurg the professor gives a study guide for the exams so do it and you should do well on the exams. For role, there is a review before each exam but it's not a class to worry about its more about facts. For pharm it was a little tricky because of all the meds to memorize for various disorders but a review is done before the exam. The place where most people fail is Kaplan (one for pharm, medsurg, and role) the one for medsurg was hard but there is a practice questions on kaplan and that really helped. I also know one of my classmates used Medsurg made incredible easy book and it really helped to understand the concept of the various disorders. We had about 10 of our classmates drop out during medsurg.
Tip:
find a study buddy, DO THE REVIEW OR STUDY GUIDES, review with the professors after the exam. There are many practice questions available that can help as well.
