Who knows when the link will be available and how we should be preparing right now. Has anyone sent anything yet? TEAS scores, transcripts, other documents????

I hear good things about the program though so it would make the commute worth it. I would prefer Fresno City but I was unable to apply this application round because I didn't have the required Chem class (taking it now) and it kinda sucks their next round isn't until January 2022. I have my BS from National so I'll be applying to their BSN program but ugh the price tag on that one is not nice!

Oh I see! Yes it’s funny how quickly options narrow down! There were 2 schools I could have applied to but didn’t because a friend had a bad experience with one and I didn’t have a specific sociology class for the other! I hope you can get into National! I hear a lot of people pay off the debt from schools like that, but at the same time there’s something really nice about graduating with zero debt from an ADN and then immediately making money! Starting pay is the same so why not? Merced is one of 3 programs I’m applying to that accepts students for placement in either Fall or Spring of the coming year. I barely knew schools did that and now it seems multiple programs do so! I hope we get in!!

I applied to National recently and made top 45 and got an interview but unfortunately didn't make top 20. I was 3 points off of their lowest score accepted. I have a huge amount of debt from my BS with them that I'm like ehhhhh when I see the cost of the BSN but you're right, it can get paid off with a good paying job. I applied to West Hills in Lemoore but they deduct points for certain classes not taken so I fear that makes me less competitive. Good luck to you! The waiting game is no fun.

Hi guys! Just here to say good luck to everyone! I’m currently in first semester of the RN program at Merced College and so far it’s been good. A lot of work, very time consuming but great at the same time. For those that are concerned about commuting I don’t think it’s too bad because the driving time helps to relax before getting home, at least it does for me. I commute one hour and 20 minutes. If you guys don’t get in, do not give up! Last year was my second year applying to programs and I am so happy I got in. The first year I was very bummed but I never gave up! Best of luck to all of you!!

Congrats to you! Thank you so much for the encouragement! It's nice to hear from someone in the program and even better to hear the commute isn't that bad. Best of luck to you!!

Does anybody know if I need to submit my transcripts again. I sent them last year and the counselor approved my classes but I'm not sure if they need to be sent again. I will be attaching them to my application but I just need to make sure they don't need it on file again.

From what I understand, During the zoom meeting on the 24th she said that if you already had your classes approved last year, you can submit that approval again. You'll also have to attach your transcripts to the application. You can always double check with a counselor to be sure! Application date was just announced.
Do you guys know if we need to send course descriptions with our transcripts from other schools not on the grid? I got the GPA form done but I didn’t get it evaluated so I thought maybe I should include course descriptions... but I don’t want to be disqualified for putting documents the application doesn’t ask for.

Thank you! Yeah I think I’m going to talk to a counselor either way because once little mistake and you’re disqualified ? it’s just that last year they didn’t require you to get it signed off because of covid.

I’d say talk to the counselor beforehand because they’ll disqualify applicants for the smallest things.

I just dealt with all of this. If the class isn't on the grid, you have to get the GPA form signed. You only have to submit a course description if you are submitting a request for substitution. For example, non of my sciences were on the grid so I had to submit for transcript evaluation and once the evaluation was done I had to get the GPA form signed. I have an upper level math I am trying to substitute for their required math so I had to submit a substitution form and include the course description.

Well I missed the deadline to have the transcript evaluated, so the counselor signed off on my GPA form even though 2 classes were not on the grid. She told me that basically I was taking responsibility for the classes and my signature was basically me acknowledging that if the courses aren’t what I’m saying they are, I’ll be disqualified. Again, she signed off on it. So I’ll be submitting the form she signed, but I’m trying to figure out if I should upload course descriptions too. I emailed her about it, but I’m inclined to leave the course descriptions off.

Hi! Sorry for the late response. To be honest I don’t remember how many points I applied with since I had applied to several colleges and lost track. I know I was not on the high points because I did apply with 2 B’s ( not on science courses) and Merced is mostly lottery so I’m sure I got pulled from the lottery.
