Merced College Applicants Fall 2019 Spring 2020

Hi everyone :) just noticed that they posted the day they are accepting applications on Merced's website! Who's applying? This will be my second try!

When I dropped off my application they were giving hand outside that said to expect to hear back may/June, but then last year the application period was in March and they heard back in May, I was thinking we were going to hear back April/May but I guess not. People that are accepted and alternatives will be notified with a letter by mail, bad news of denial will be through e mail

Has anyone tried calling to see if they thought they would let us know sooner than May/June? I tried calling this morning but kept getting everyone’s voicemail.

I haven’t called but keep us posted if you find anything out!! It’s so hard waiting, especially when you have to make arrangements if we are lucky enough to get selected!

I know it's so hard to make plans for the summer. I was thinking what if I get accepted, there's a mandatory meeting that students have to attend and hopefully it's not when I go on vacation, if I get accepted. I guess I will have to wait on purchasing my flight tickets.

I wish we could find out sooner! I was actually surprised that we were told we wouldn’t find out until May or June since we applied earlier than we did last year.

Time has gone by fast! It’s gone by fast since the first time I applied, I couldn’t believe I was already applying for my second time lol.

I wonder if we call if they will be able to tell us about how many applications they received? So how many applicants do they accept? Is it 40?

I know. It’s going by so fast. It’s my 3rd time applying. I know more people in this group are on the same boat as well. Man I hope we get in. We have been waiting 3 years already :(

I just wanted to let all of you guys know that now everyone will be notified via mail. Accepted and alternated only mail. And not accepted will be notified via email as well as mail. I just read it on the website. So now getting a letter doesn’t mean good news. What a bummer.

Geez so those getting denied will basically be told twice lol, that’s rough. That is definitely a bummer, I wonder why they switched it up this time.
